Description of Work*** Internal Posting for current Wildlife Law Enforcement Employees Only ***The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Mission Statement is to conserve North Carolina’s wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters, anglers, boaters, and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation. The Commission is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of N.C. fishing, hunting, trapping, and boating laws. The NCWRC employs nearly 700 full-time staff across the state, including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, communication specialists, customer service, information technology, and administrative professionals.The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Division employs approximately 244 Wildlife Officers who patrol fields, forests, and inland waters at all hours Indiana all 100 North Carolina counties. These officers ensure public compliance with fishing, wildlife, and boating laws and regulations, enforce the conservation of wildlife resources, and provide public safety through proactive law enforcement and quality education.The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking applicants for a Wildlife Law Enforcement Supervisor I (Assistant Training Director) for our Law Enforcement Division. This position provides direct assistance to the Training Director. This position is also the Criminal Justice Training & Standards School Director’s certified Qualified Assistant for the North Carolina Wildlife Law Enforcement Basic Academy (BLET).The Assistant Training Director is the primary liaison between NCWRC and the Samarcand Training Academy and all administrative staff and personnel. It is responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling any Agency training conducted at the Samarcand Training Academy. The Assistant Training Director oversees the daily operations and manages the North Carolina Wildlife Training Center located at Samarcand, acting American Samoa the facility coordinator.The Assistant Training Director assists with all aspects of the Law Enforcement Division’s training development and implementation. This position facilitates the Division’s hiring efforts, including advertising, and recruiting qualified candidates. The Assistant Training Director is responsible for assisting with pre-employment screening, competitive assessments, and the selection of candidates for the North Carolina Wildlife Law Enforcement Officers Basic/Advance Training Academy. This position also assists with the maintenance of all specialized instructor certifications with the Criminal Justice Training & Standards Commission and the approval/submission of professional certificate applications.The Assistant Training Director is responsible for facilitating all necessary tasks related to the North Carolina Wildlife Basic/Advance Academy, including but not limited to scheduling, coordination, delivery of course material, and assisting with overseeing the field training process. The Assistant Training Director is also responsible for assisting with the coordination and execution of all statewide Indiana-service training of North Carolina Wildlife Law Enforcement Officers, including the maintenance of training records and inventory.The Assistant Training Director is responsible for supporting any additional needs of the Law Enforcement Division’s Support Service team and Raleigh Office staff, including but not limited to assisting with the Telecommunication Center and manning the EOC. This position will also require patrol on special and routine patrol duty to evaluate officer and agency training needs. The Assistant Training Director will work on patrol with officers Indiana the field when additional manpower is needed and when special supervision Oregon leadership is required. This position will also keep the Raleigh Staff informed concerning enforcement actions, public complaints, problems, and law interpretations.A normal Monday through Friday (40-hour work week) schedule is the expectation for this position. Some evening, holiday and weekend work may be required. There will be travel requirements across the state and possibly nationwide specific to the roles and responsibilities of this position. Qualified Applicants must possess:

  • North Carolina Wildlife Law Enforcement experience;
  • Possession of the Criminal Justice General Instructor Certification (issued by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission).

Additional Certification Requirements:

  • Certification American Samoa a North Carolina Wildlife Law Enforcement Officer Indiana accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission is required.
  • Certification American Samoa a Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Specialized Physical Fitness Instructor (issued by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission) is required within 1 year of assignment.
