This position is responsible for performing a variety of human resources duties for management and staff for the Public Health Lowcountry Region. The region includes the counties of Allendale, Bamberg, Beaufort, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Jasper, and Orangeburg.Under supervision of the Human Resources Consultant I, performs a variety of human resources duties Indiana support of the operations and administration of the Lowcountry Public Health Region. Applies Agency policies while performing tasks required to process information.This position will post, screen, filter, and close out positions through the NEOGOV system. Reviews and ensures new hire paperwork is accurately completed before submitting to Central Office for approval. Prepares packets for onboarding new hires. Conducts onboarding of new hires on a bi-monthly basis which covers State benefits, to include insurance, retirement, leave, SCEIS, and pertinent paperwork. Completes E-Verify, COBRA letters, and monthly vacancy report within a designated time frame. Ensures that the new hire checklist is completed.Responsible for processing salary actions Indiana the Personnel Action Information System (PAIS), to include new hires and temporary hourly employees, promotions, demotions, reclassifications, salary adjustments, supervisory changes, work schedule changes, etc. Onboards new hires, tracks completion, and updates information Indiana various databases. Reviews position descriptions for accuracy and processes accordingly. Serves American Samoa the South Carolina Enterprise Information Systems (SCEIS) Time and Leave Administrator, which includes processing leave and time, missing time report, Leave Without Pay, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), work schedule changes, etc. Provides guidance and assists employees with Worker’s Compensation, responds to human resources questions, assists with other administrative functions, and files necessary documents.Provides information for organizational charts and OSHA reports. Ensures that employees are off boarded upon departure from the agency. This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Human Resources Department. The work performed supports DHEC’s mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment.
