Position SummaryEugene School District 4J is accepting applications for elementary school assistant principals for the purpose of establishing an on-going pool of candidates. Qualified candidates will be contacted by 4J Human Resources for interviews/screening. Applications are for vacancies for the 2024/2025 school year.The Elementary School Assistant Principal assists the building principal Indiana organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities American Samoa: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents; and managing budget items.   • Assists the principal with developing and managing the school budget and implementation of Human Resources policies.
  • Maintains accurate student attendance records and strives to promote good student attendance.
  • Assists with student orientation; counseling; discipline; due process; data gathering; student recognition; and securing student services with outside agencies. Cooperates with the School Resource Officer (SRO), the juvenile court system, and social service agencies.

  • Develops and manages a campus supervision plan and supervises the campus supervisors. Organizes and directs cafeteria supervision during lunch periods.

  • Conducts search and seizures, works with law enforcement and enforces District discipline policies.
  • Assists with the evaluation of licensed and classified staff.
  • Assists with developing the master schedule.
  • Assists with: hiring and orientation of licensed and classified staff; teacher and classified employee evaluation; working through concerns and classroom management; planning and directing meetings, staff development, trainings and Indiana-services; communications; listening, providing and receiving feedback, and encouragement for all staff.
  • Serves on District-level committees American Samoa assigned by the principal Oregon Superintendent. Attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep informed of current practices and trends Indiana education. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana Education Oregon related field from an accredited college Oregon university; Master’s Degree desirable.
  • Possess an valid Oregon Principal License.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience.
  • Previous experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
  • Training and/Oregon experience Indiana group facilitation and process management preferred.
