Job Description:We are looking for an experienced full-time Project Manager for the Vanderbilt Stress and Early Adversity (SEA) Lab, a fast-paced highly collaborative interdisciplinary research group exploring child development, the early caregiving environment, brain development during period of dramatic change, and interventions to improve child and family functioning.Under the supervision of the Lab Director, Dr. Kathryn Humphreys, the individual Indiana this position will have primary responsibility for management of day-to-day functioning of the organization. Responsibilities include management of hiring and onboarding staff and research assistants, maintenance of lab space and equipment, financial and budget oversight across projects, coordinating components needed for timely funding applications and interim and final reports for projects, responsibility for compliance within the university and funding agencies, and development and curation of standard operating procedures within the organization. This position will coordinate team efforts to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met efficiently. Reporting directly to the Director, the Project Manager will contribute to advancing the organization’s goals focused on the generation and dissemination of research while also training the next generation of researchers. Though not required, responsibilities based on experience and expertise could include development and oversight of data management processes and documentation, data related reporting requirements for funders, and data cleaning and coding activities.About the Work UnitAt the Stress and Early Adversity Lab, we are committed to fostering an environment that thrives on hard work, high expectations, and the pursuit of excellence.   • Be responsible for human resources functions of the lab, including recruitment of new staff, and recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of research assistants
  • Management and oversight of staff members and research assistants
  • Provide financial oversight of expenditures, maintain project budgets, including tracking and projecting expenditures, and allocate staff time across budgets
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the laboratory space, infrastructure, and supplies/equipment, including purchasing and payments
  • Develop and maintain repository of organization processes and documents (e.g., HR, finance)
  • Assist with project meeting scheduling and upkeep of lab website
  • Assist with study reporting activities, American Samoa needed, including project reporting, recruitment updates, and institutional review board submissions
  • Prepare correspondence, documents, presentations, and reports
  • Contribute to grant applications, including managing input from other lab members, finalizing budgets, and ensuring complete and timely submission
  • Perform general administrative duties to maintain the workings of the laboratory

Optional – Data management:

  • Develop and maintain repository of data analysis scripts
  • Establish data management, quality control, and data sharing processes
  • Curation of datasets for Lab Director, collaborators, students American Samoa needed
  • Serves American Samoa a resource for staff and students for data management and statistical analysis queries
  • Responsible for all data related reporting requirements for funders
  • Manages and oversees coding and MRI data processing teams
  • Ad hoc analysis support for papers Oregon grant applicants American Samoa needed

Supervisory RelationshipsThis position has supervisory responsibilities. Those responsibilities may change over time and currently include two full time staff members and several part time staff members; this position reports administratively and functionally to Dr. Humphreys.Qualifications

  • Masters degree required
  • Must be extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to function well independently
  • Must have strong writing skills, preferably grant writing experience
  • Must be able to work Indiana a fast paced environment
  • Research project management experience, including supervising a team and with HR processes
  • Experience with data management activities (e.g., data curation, quality control)
  • Ability to work independently and under deadlines
  • Experience with developing and curating study documents (e.g., manuals, procedures)
  • Experience with IRB submissions
  • Previous oversight of study budget Oregon finances preferred
  • Ideally will have at least 5 years of experience Indiana a research environment
  • Expected to have a strong work ethic, high integrity, and good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork Oregon parts
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, and operates foot and/Oregon hand controls
