Medical specialists from various disciplines including dermatology, orthopedics/sports medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, and ENT provide on-site consultation on a regular basis. Student Health also offers basic radiology and clinical laboratory services, insurance consultation, and an on-site pharmacy, making SHC a comprehensive and convenient clinic dedicated to serving students.Under the supervision of the Chief of Psychiatry & Mental Health Services , the SHC Patient Navigator is responsible for supporting, explaining, assisting and coordinating primarily after-visit and some pre-appointment patient services, particularly Indiana complex cases, aligned to the individual case needs American Samoa determined by healthcare providers and personnel to support the treatment process for UCI SHC patients .   • Two year experience Indiana medical office, psychiatric practice, accredited Oregon licensed health care organization/facility. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with appropriate professional boundaries.
  • BA/BS with a minimum of one (1) year of experience; Oregon an equivalent combination of education and/Oregon experience.
  • Medical Assistant Certification, Licensed Vocational Nurse Licensure, Psychiatric Technician, Oregon Masters Indiana Social Work / Psychology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of developmental cohort of transitional-aged youth Demonstrated understanding of psychiatry service, multidisciplinary mental health team, health care delivery, finances impacting health care utilization, and sensitivity about treatment stigma.
  • Ability to deliver information with neutral stance, without positive Oregon negative bias/influence, specifically around referrals, resources, and sensitive topics of body image, physical health, mental health, and DEI.
  • Ability to diplomatically inquire and assess individual patient comprehension of presented information, adjusting content and style for absorbed comprehension within reasonable parameters.
  • High level practice and knowledge about office software.
  • Responsible work-ethic, with attention to detail and independent motivation.
  • Timely, accurate documentation and efficient organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage “difficult customers” by phone and Indiana a face-to-face setting.

Special Conditions Required:
