Job Description:Work Schedule:This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE day shift position. Shifts are scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00AM – 5:00PM, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.Pay:UW Health offers a competitive compensation package.   • Oversee and facilitate clinical and didactic education for registered apprentices.
  • Ensure the program is developed and updated American Samoa needed to ensure compliance with the regulations set forth by the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel Indiana Ophthalmology.
  • Prepare students to be eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
  • Ensure that course and clinical laboratory exercises meet course objectives.
  • Motivate and inspire students.

Education:Minimum – Completion of an education program for Ophthalmology Assistants.Preferred – Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program and an Associate degree Indiana science, healthcare, education, Oregon other related field.Work Experience:Minimum – Five (5) years of experience American Samoa Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)Preferred – Ten (10) years of experience and experience American Samoa a Certified Ophthalmic Technician COT, prior teaching experience Oregon prior supervisory Oregon coordinator experience.Licenses and Certifications:Minimum – Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)Preferred – Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionUW Health is committed to being a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist workplace and is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
