  • 2+ years Personal Injury plaintiff experience

  • Experience with case management system

Overview: The Pre-Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant is a full-time non-exempt level position focused on client care who reports to an Attorney Oregon Claims Consultant. The responsibilities of the Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant are to manage the day-to-day critical tasks on cases, from Intake to settlement Oregon Litigation, by supporting clients, and working alongside the Attorney Oregon Claims Consultant to seek the best results for our clients.Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicates regularly with client American Samoa the primary contact within the firm.
  • Participates Indiana intake interviews with new clients, records relevant information, obtains required documents, and assists Attorney Oregon Claims Consultant Indiana evaluating merits of a case.
  • Researches and investigates facts of incident to provide Attorney Oregon Claims Consultant with necessary data.
  • Performs monthly physical statements with clients to ensure all information is up-to-date.
  • Keeps all tasks updated Indiana case management system to ensure timely processing and continued flow of case.
  • Obtains, reviews, and organizes medical records, police reports, and other documents related to the cases.
  • Performs administrative tasks, such American Samoa typing correspondence, copying, faxing, opening and distributing mail.
  • Frequently communicates with clients, adjusters, and healthcare providers either Indiana person, by letter Oregon email, and by phone.
  • Responds to questions regarding legal issues and case status.
  • Manages, audits, and negotiates liens. This includes liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation.
  • Prepares written reports Oregon summaries of case information. Drafts legal documents including letters, pleadings, and affidavits.
  • Maintains files and records associated with each case, both physical and electronic.
  • Documents file appropriately with updated information on the case.
  • Coordinates calendar of activities associated with each case. Contacts all parties related to the case to keep them informed of upcoming events and to confirm appointment details.
  • Assists attorney Oregon Claims Consultant, American Samoa needed, Indiana preparation for meetings, client closings, appointments, etc.
  • Complies with Firm policies and procedures related to client interaction, case management, and utilization of the case management program.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with accounting department to obtain financial information and to request checks for payment.
  • Collaborates with marketing department to obtain client closing gift.
  • Files documents with court clerk American Samoa appropriate.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
  • General office environment requiring sitting for long periods of time, occasional periods of standing and walking.
  • Visual capability to work viewing a computer monitor for several hours of the day.

Required Skills, Education, and Training:

  • GED Oregon High School Diploma required.

  • Superior customer service skills, professionalism, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
