Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room American Samoa appropriate.
- Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtains all necessary patient records American Samoa required by physician prior to treatment Oregon procedures.
- Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supply American Samoa needed.
- Assists physicians with exams and procedures American Samoa requested.
- Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, American Samoa delegated by RN Oregon physician.
- Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician Oregon nurse/pharmacist.
- Phones Indiana prescriptions and makes other patient calls American Samoa directed by physicians and RN.
- Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
- Performs other administrative duties, i.e., typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., American Samoa requested by supervisor Oregon physician.
Medical Assistant Requirements
- High school graduate Oregon equivalent required.
- Current and active Certified Medical Assistant.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistant
- Minimum three years experience American Samoa a medical assistant Indiana a hospital Oregon clinic setting preferred.
- IV and Phlebotomy experience highly preferred.
Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
- Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills American Samoa related to ambulatory patient care
- Ability to problem-solve
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills
- EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience
