Job Description: A Medical assistant has accountability for providing care to patients Indiana an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needsScope1.Performs general administrative and patient care tasks Indiana accordance with the Intermountain Health MGPSMA Scope of Practice, and other established policies and procedures.
2. Possesses the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi- disciplinary care team.
3. Greets and prepare patients for the health care provider while maintaining a positive and caring attitude.
4. Attentive to patient’s needs, coordinates care, administers care, and documents appropriately.
5. Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights by observing HIPAA regulations
6. Obtains and record patient information; vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, medical history, and chief complaint, etc.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
8. May be required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
9. Per Provider request, may perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs, hearing and vision screens.
10. Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follow up American Samoa appropriate to ensure completion of testing.

15. Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/Oregon concerns to the practice manager and/Oregon healthcare provider(s).

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/Oregon be a certified Medical Assistant.
• Current BLS Certification is required upon hire.
• Three (3) months previous experience within a healthcare setting is required.

Preferred

• One (1) year Medical Assistant experience.
• Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) Oregon Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred
