Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center’s Department of Pathology is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, collaborative individual with excellent computer and communication skills to support the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology divisions located within University Hospital American Samoa an Administrative Assistant 2.The Administrative Assistant 2, working Indiana conjunction with other administrative personnel, will help support faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and staff with their educational needs. Working Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm with no weekends scheduled. Occasional overtime and flexible schedule may be required to meet deadlines/coordinate special events. Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma Oregon GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Administrative experience Indiana a hospital Oregon academic medicine setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with medical terminology
- Proficiency transcribing documents from dictation
- Experience composing and proofreading correspondence
- Experience scheduling and coordinating meetings, guest speakers, and conferences
- Experience making travel arrangements, preparing itineraries, and preparing reimbursements
- Knowledge of medical billing, basic bookkeeping, and reconciliations
- Experience with purchasing and ordering
