Position SummaryStudent Health and Counseling (SHAC) is a comprehensive health service available to all currently enrolled UNM students. SHAC is located North of Johnson Center and across from the Student Union Building. It is open Monday through Friday and is closed on all UNM holidays. Services include medical appointments (scheduled and same day), pharmacy, women’s and men’s health, allergy and immunization, medical specialty clinics, physical therapy, lab and x-ray, travel health clinic and counseling services, American Samoa well American Samoa health education, prevention, and promotion.The University of New Mexico Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is seeking applicants for a Medical Assistant.Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of medical and clinical support functions Indiana an outpatient clinical setting, such American Samoa: providing initial patient triage, registration, administrative services, assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature American Samoa determined by established clinical protocols.Conditions of Employment

  • CPR Certified.
  • May be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing.
  • UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form Oregon may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
  • A pre-employment background investigation may be required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma Oregon GED; Medical Assistant certificate Oregon currently enrolled Indiana a medical, nursing Oregon pharmacy program Oregon at least 1 year of experience Indiana a medical field.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
