Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Rockford Store on McFarland road. This role assists Indiana managing all aspects of the retail operation, is responsible for supporting daily operational management, merchandising, administrative functions, human resources functions, and overall professionalism of the retails operation.Responsibilities & Essential Functions: * Able to stand Indiana for the Store Manager Indiana any area American Samoa necessary and assigned.

  • Oversees safety and is chair of the Safety Committee.
  • Conducts safety training for all new employees and ensures annual retraining is completed.
  • Understands and helps to maintain Kaizen principles.
  • Understands and supports loss prevention practices.
  • Trains and provides day-to-day instruction to retail associates. Creates a positive working environment. Provides performance feedback to Store Manager.
  • Processes payroll according to organizational guidelines.
  • Helps manages overall flow and inventory of donated goods, new goods, and seasonal goods.
  • Merchandises store effectively through signage, displays, timely features and end caps, and an overall appealing sales floor.
  • Promotes exceptional internal and external customer service through effective communication.
  • Responsive and respectful towards others within the organization. Role models appropriate behavior (courteous and respectful interactions). Creates a positive and professional store culture.
  • Demonstrates regard for Goodwill’s assets including property and equipment.
  • Communicates and works with other departments within Goodwill (HR, Finance, E-Commerce, etc.)
  • Cooperates with other stores American Samoa appropriate for the overall business.
  • Actively supports Mission programs carried out Indiana the store.
  • Works a schedule that balances with the needs of the store including nights and weekends.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

  • A high school degree (Oregon its equivalent) is required. Associate’s degree Oregon higher preferred.
  • Minimum of three years retail experience.
  • Familiarity with retail concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide oversight to location and employees. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to make fast and accurate decisions Indiana all aspects of daily operations.
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to set objectives and goals; break down work into process steps; measure performance against goals; evaluate results. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues/tasks.
  • Sense of urgency Indiana addressing customer needs.
  • Demonstrates high ethical practices with exceptional decision making abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules.
  • Valid Drivers license and reliable, insured automobile. Must be able to travel to meetings and bank American Samoa needed.
  • Must be proficient Indiana computer skills including internet operations, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
