The Office represents individuals Indiana criminal and civil commitment proceedings who are entitled to court-appointed counsel under the Constitution, Oregon under Florida statute. The Office represents individuals accused of committing criminal offenses, individuals who are subject to mental health commitments and individuals who are subject to civil commitment under the Jimmy Ryce Act. The Circuit includes Duval (Jacksonville), Clay and Nassau counties.The ideal candidate is a well-rounded individual who is committed to doing criminal defense work and has the skills necessary to interact effectively with our client base. Candidates must have strong academic backgrounds. Trial court and/Oregon mock trial experience is preferred.
