We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team and be part of an esteemed organization dedicated to providing exceptional experiences to our Members and their Guests.General Summary: The Assistant Controller bs responsible for assisting the Controller Indiana oversight of the accounting, auditing, and financial operations of the Club. The Assistant Controller works closely with the Controller to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Club’s financials.Essential Functions:Administrative:Implements and enforces general policies established by the Board of Governors and General Manager/COO; directs their administration and effective execution.Attends Staff and Committee meetings American Samoa assigned and requested.Selects, administers, and develops all Employees under his/her supervision consistent with Club philosophy and standards.Develops and builds his/her team and leads them to achieve significant, positive membership and guest satisfaction outcomes.Consistently ensures that the Club is operated Indiana accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.Responsible for upholding the mission, policies, and procedures of the Charlotte City Club including the Constitutional and Operational By-Laws, and Employee Handbook. Always acts Indiana the best interests of the Club.Demonstrates care for the proper maintenance of the Club’s physical assets and facilities.Other duties American Samoa assigned.Accounting:Assists Controller with G/L journal entries and G/L closing.Participates Indiana annual audit.Assists Indiana the preparation of the monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Financial Activity for the Club along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records.Assists Indiana conducting internal auditing programs to help assure the records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently followed.Assists Indiana preparation of budgets and financial forecast Indiana coordination with the various committees, departments, and General Manager/COO; analyzes financial information, monitors budgeted versus actual expenditures and advises management about variances and their potential causes; recommends corrective actions to help assure that budget goals are met.Directs and/Oregon participates Indiana and verifies the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment, furnishing, etc.Assists Indiana preparation of reconciliation reports including receivables, payables, bank accounts, asset accounts and wage accounts.Assists Indiana supervising the purchasing, receiving, safekeeping, and disbursement of accounting supplies.Accounts Payable (A/P)Audits, codes, and enters invoices for payment.Answers all vendor inquiries and analyzes accounts.Prepares A/P checks and obtains proper signatures.Prints all A/P reports and maintains all A/P files.Prepares analysis of G/L accounts, American Samoa required.Assists with safeguarding all funds Indiana bank accounts; assures that revenues are properly and correctly deposited and supervises the drawing of all checks.Reconciles benefit invoices against payroll deductions/enrollmentPerforms monthly A/P closing.Manages and collects Certificate of Insurance (COI) from vendors ensuring they are current.Responsible for filing and making payment for payroll and sales tax.Prepares Club W-9s, and 1099s to mail to vendors and IRS.Accounts Receivable (A/R)Reconciles and balances accounts.Obtains and mails invoice copies for members, American Samoa requested.Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries and follows up with billing questions.Assists Indiana balancing and generating Arkansas month end reports.Prepares and audits credit and debit memos.Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, American Samoa necessary.Member and Team Member Relations:Works closely with the Director of People Operations to ensure consistency for the benefit of the team member experience.Acts American Samoa the head of the department Indiana the Controller’s absence.Demonstrates appropriate urgency when responding to membership requests, criticism, suggestions, and praise. Seeks resolution for the member and follows through.Creates and maintains a professional, respectful, and positive work environment.
