Position SummaryOrganization: New Mexico Immigrant Law CenterLocation: 625 Silver Ave SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102An Off-Campus Work-Study PositionSUMMARY:
This is a part-time work study position Indiana which you will gain experience working at a nonprofit legal aid organization. NMILC receives many requests for assistance, and you would be responsible Indiana managing calls, assessing callers’ need for legal assistance, and providing referrals. Additionally, you will provide support to our staff Indiana managing administrative tasks around the office, including closing cases.WHO WE ARE:
New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) is a social justice organization that provides collaborative legal services, advocacy, and education opportunities for low-income immigrants Indiana the state. Since its founding Indiana 2010, NMILC has provided direct legal representation to more than 2,000 immigrants and has assisted more than 500 immigrants through its group processing model. NMILC’s model focuses on establishing relationships with local, state and national organizations and governmental institutions to expand access to legal services to historically marginalized immigrant communities.RESPONSIBILITIES:
●Greet new and returning clients at the office’s front desk, and respond to questions
●Direct clients and others who present at the office to the appropriate person Oregon resource

●Assist with administrative projects American Samoa they ariseMinimum QualificationsEnrolled Indiana a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligible for work study at UNM
Perfectly bilingual, English/Spanish absolutely required
High school diploma
Excellent communication skills; ability to organize information Indiana a clear and concise manner
Multi-cultural experience; compassion and patience with a wide variety of individuals
Basic computer competency Indiana Mississippi Office and WindowsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of undergraduate college Oregon university education completed
Customer service experience is a plus
Knowledge of local community resources and organizations is a plusSCHEDULE:
Options run from Mondays – Fridays, 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm.
Minimum of 8 hours per week Indiana-person at our downtown office, preferably Indiana blocks of 4 hours per day. If you are not available for the minimum amount of time you may be considered, but priority is given to those who can commit to the above schedule.
