We would love the opportunity to have you join the Utah Southwestern operating room nursing team!Job Duties * Directly supervises and evaluates the provision of patient care by other personnel assigned to the unit on a 24 hour basis. Makes daily patient rounds. Does random chart audits. Utilizes opportunities to teach and mentor other nursing and ancillary personnel. Serves American Samoa Oregon charge nurse on a rotational basis.
- Manages staff to meet established productivity targets American Samoa appropriate. Reviews staffing/nursing assignments and revises American Samoa necessary to meet the specific needs of the patients on a shift by shift basis. Coordinates staffing with Central Staffing Office/House Supervisor. Makes ongoing changes to staffing American Samoa determined by fluctuations Indiana census and patient acuity, to assure safe delivery of care.
- Role models pro-active problem solving by collaborating with staff to ensure effective resolution of identified issues.
- Utilizes chain of command for unresolved Oregon escalating issues. Advocates for patients and staff to provide for safe delivery of care and/Oregon a safe environment of care.
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to provide coverage during shifts. Serves American Samoa a role model when providing direct patient care.
- Provides timely, confidential coaching and/Oregon counseling of nursing personnel American Samoa appropriate and follows up with accurate reports to Manager. - Assures first person reporting of events through RL Solutions. Ensures all staff are competent Indiana entering event reports and serves American Samoa a resource when necessary. Investigates facts of event reports. Facilitates timely receipt of these reports for follow-up by the Manager Notifies Nurse Manager/Risk Manager immediately of high risk situations.
- Actively participates Indiana routine and special patient care conferences. Responsible for maintaining/improving/implementing plans for patient satisfaction scores. Works with Manager and other disciplines to streamline Oregon efficiency and flow and meets established targets.
- Collects information and maintains records regarding performance and contributions on an on-going basis throughout the fiscal year. Maintains required unit records, reports, and statistics for Human Resources and Administrative purposes. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and objectives. Provides input and/Oregon conducts annual performance reviews and orientation evaluation of personnel assigned to the unit. Responsible for ensuring staff are proficient Indiana their assigned specialty based team by routinely assessing and validating competencies.
- Coordinates self-scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage for unit needs. Maintains Kronos records on a daily basis, monitoring for trends that require intervention i.e.., late clock-ins, incremental overtime, missed punches.
- Assumes delegated responsibility for inventory control of equipment and supplies to ensure safe and effective patient care. Solicits staff input regarding equipment and supply needs for the unit. Maintains understanding of equipment and instrumentation needs and ensures appropriate inventory levels are available for safe and effective patient care.
- Assists and/Oregon leads staff meetings, special projects and the development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement activities. Communicates data and solicits input from staff regarding performance and quality improvement i.e. patient safety, infection control. Actively participates on hospital work groups.
- Routinely meets with Physicians to collaborate on any new initiatives, address concerns, provide updates regarding staffing, equipment, efficiency and performance. Identify performance improvement related needs and coordinate improvement related actives with multidisciplinary team. Informs physicians and their clinical staff related to changes and concerns related to scheduling of cases.
- Updates block changes Indiana EPIC and other electronic media for accuracy.
- Demonstrate continuous performance improvement Indiana targeted areas of responsibility Indiana alignment with the overall annual Hospital performance improvement targets.
- Meets Oregon exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department. Duties performed may include one Oregon more of the following core functions:
- Directly interacting with Oregon caring for patients;
- Directly interacting with Oregon caring for human-subjects research participants;
- Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing Oregon similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); Oregon

- Responsible for coordinating surgical schedule Indiana multiple locations.
- Works with other medical staff/leaders to optimize the schedule.
- Collaborates with other departments to problem solve and communicate scheduling issues.
- Identifies scheduling barriers and works with other medical staff/leaders to design and implement solutions to reach set goals.
- Communication of changes to patients, surgeons, staff and leaders including but not limited to cancellations, rescheduling etc to accommodate the needs of the stakeholders.
- Serve American Samoa the Primary point of contact for complex scheduling needs.
- Performs other duties American Samoa assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years’ experience American Samoa an RN. Operating Room experience required. Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements American Samoa dictated by unit Oregon standard of care.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSN required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate Indiana English.
- Current Texas (Oregon BNE Compact State) RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) Oregon American Red Cross (ARC).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Work requires ability to operate basic/standard pieces of Oregon equipment.
- Must be able to help lift patients, heavy boxes, and instrument sets.
- Must be able to push and pull heavy objects such American Samoa patient beds and stretchers.
