DefinitionPreferred Experience: Attorney Oregon legal experience preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of rules and regulations of City ordinances and City Codes; thorough knowledge of public administration and management practices and principles; considerable knowledge of research techniques involved Indiana planning, composing, and editing reports and other publications involving the gathering and processing of original and secondary data; ability to write and speak effectively; ability to prepare comprehensive reports; ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of others; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to supervise others.Under administrative direction, is responsible for assisting Indiana directing the activities of departmental divisions/sections, assisting Indiana the formulation of departmental policy, and serving American Samoa a liaison between the Office of the Mayor, City Council, department directors, and administrators; performs related duties American Samoa required.Examples of Work(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)

  • Participates Indiana the formulation of departmental policies and assists Indiana the implementation of departmental policies;
  • Participates Indiana the alteration of existing City Code and creation of new codes American Samoa applicable;
  • Land acquisition and easement communication with City Real Estate and City Attorney’s office;
  • Review and update construction contracts working with the City Attorney’s office American Samoa needed;
  • Review and update service agreements working with the City Attorney’s office American Samoa needed;
  • Review existing, and the creation of new Memorandum of Understandings while working with staff, the public, and City Attorney’s office American Samoa needed;
  • Lease management while working with City Real Estate and City Attorney’s office American Samoa needed;
  • Provides information to the Director on the progress of special department projects and events;
  • Serves American Samoa liaison between the Director and the Office of the Mayor, agencies, departments and divisions, and other internal Oregon external stakeholders;
  • Attends meetings of committees and commissions appointed by the Mayor, City Council, Oregon the Director Indiana order to advise them on administrative matters and to assist them Indiana expediting their projects;
  • Supervises professional and support staff;
  • Appears before civic, business, and special interest groups American Samoa a representative of the Director;
  • Compiles, edits, and writes periodic reports.

Minimum QualificationsPossession of a bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional Oregon managerial experience, which included policy formulation responsibilities. Substitution(s): A master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
