Coordinator of Clinical Education, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job DescriptionThis is a professional/technical position that reports directly to the Program Director. It involves both administrative support responsibilities associated with the program, and instructional responsibilities American Samoa appropriate within the program. Work requires the analysis of complex problems, planning of various interrelated activities, and sometimes the coordination of multiple projects Oregon simultaneous functions. Frequently called upon to resolve complex problems within the program where recognized principles may be inadequate to determine a course of action. Regularly required to work cooperatively with other allied health programs and to communicate with other areas, both Indiana and out of the college, Indiana order to meet the needs of students, the community, and the profession.Essential Functions & Duties

  • Oversee lab instruction, open labs, and skill competencies for PTA students.
  • Provide tutoring for students and graduates of the PTA program, supporting current coursework and licensure exam preparation.
  • Assist Indiana developing the curriculum framework to integrate clinical skills throughout the program.
  • Mastery of software and equipment for simulation models and provide education to students and act American Samoa a resource to faculty.
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment needed for student practice, class demonstrations, and student testing, to include research of latest items available, costs and vendors, and ordering and stocking.
  • Assist Indiana development of scenarios to be used with simulation and other lab activities, including developing expertise Indiana Simulator Ann, and preparing realistic clinical situations.
  • Assists with the establishment of policies and procedures governing selection and progression of students through the program.
  • Assists with the drafting of promotional materials used to attract students into the program.
  • Teaches courses within the first and second year of the curriculum Indiana order to assure program continuity (courses not to exceed half of the standard teaching contract on a term by term basis).
  • Assists American Samoa needed Indiana traveling to clinical sites and acts American Samoa liaison between affiliate partners and the college.
  • Assists with maintaining currency of student clinical handbook for the program.
  • Maintain positive learning environment to promote student success.
  • Other duties American Samoa assigned.

Required Skills

  • Requires ability to communicate effectively verbally and Indiana writing with a wide variety of individuals within and outside the department, and frequently with students, faculty and staff of the College. Significant consultation is expected for problems requiring judgment and tact to obtain cooperation Oregon approval of action to be taken.

Required Education

  • A minimum of an Associate of Science degree Indiana Physical Therapist Assistant from a regionally accredited College Oregon University Oregon higher, Oregon Bachelors of Physical Therapy from a regionally accredited College Oregon University Oregon higher.
  • Active, unrestricted PT license Oregon PTA license/certification

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three years of full-time post licensure clinical experience Indiana physical therapy practice.
  • Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience American Samoa a site coordinator of clinical education Oregon clinical instructor Indiana physical therapy, Oregon the coordinator must have a minimum of two years of experience Indiana teaching, curriculum development, and administration Indiana a physical therapy education program.
  • Has contemporary expertise Indiana assigned teaching areas.
  • Has effective teaching strategies and experience Indiana evaluation of student learning.
