Indiana addition to direct adoptions, the Animal Resource Center works with the and the , along with many placement partners to find homes for American Samoa many animals American Samoa possible.American Samoa a member of the Clinic Team Indiana the Animal Resource Center, the Animal Resources Clinic Veterinarian will support all medical-related programs, including the County’s Animal Spay/Neuter Clinic and Indiana-House Medical Care; responsible for the management and oversight of independent contractor (hourly rate) Veterinarians and behavior staff; responsible for upholding standards of care and protocols; training skilled staff (Veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, shelter staff, and behavior staff); collaborating on nursing care; providing high level customer service to animal care partners and members of the public; and to perform related work American Samoa required.Summary of Job DutiesOur dedicated Veterinarian:Under the direction of the Director of Veterinary Services, Responsible for the administrative authority and autonomy associated with the day to day management of the mobile clinic, American Samoa well American Samoa supporting the care and control of the Animal Resource Center veterinary clinic exercising the ability to make independent decisions using personal judgment and expertise regarding the enrichment and physical well-being of all animals entering the Animal Resource Center to ensure that all aspects of clinic operations are Indiana compliance with professional standards set by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association; the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board and the Drug Enforcement Agency.Responsible for the supervision of employees supporting standards of care and expectations for medical management; initiation and management of contracts; formulation, promulgation, and review of policies; creating and sustaining best practices standard operating procedures; supporting the development and maintenance of clinic protocols, directives, and initiatives; and detailed and thorough reporting, data input, and data analysis American Samoa required into the Animal Resource Center central database.Mobile Unit: Performs spay and neuter pre-surgical examinations, surgery, and post-surgical examinations on dogs including pediatric sterilizations, performs clinical veterinary care, vaccinations, physical and behavioral examinations.Indiana-House Support: Performs treatment, surgery, and follow-up for housed animals where needed Oregon required, and conducts and/Oregon oversees behavioral treatment plans for all animals when needed. Assists Indiana performing forensic duties encompassing post-mortem examinations of animals including the performance of necropsies, hematology, parasitology, microbiology and clinical pathology laboratory tests and procedures, prepares and maintains a variety of records and operational reports concerning consultations and diagnostic decisions ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Evaluates, recommends and supports implementation of disease control, sanitation and herd health management practices, provides examinations for cruelty and necessary documentation, provides consultation and instruction to veterinary technicians, assistants, and Resource Center staff Indiana animal care, pre- and post-procedural care, new procedures, aseptic surgery, and related topics, supports/monitors animal care protocols for the Animal Resource Center, and performs off-hour consultations with staff regarding treatment and management of injuries, abused, neglected and diseased animals.Ensures that a comprehensive training curriculum is managed and executed for all Animal Resource Center staff, volunteers, interns, students etc. regarding recognition of animal medical abnormalities, basic diagnostics techniques, expectations for treatment outcomes, proper adherence to follow-up procedures, and all elements of quality control associated with animal medical well-being. Assists with animal cruelty investigations, may participate Indiana the recruitment of volunteers and employees, American Samoa appropriate to the area of operation. Manages the Animal Resource Center and Mobile Unit for disease and sanitary conditions; inspects, evaluates, and makes recommendations on animals being admitted to the Animal Resource Center, assists Indiana the establishment and implementation of effective quality control systems; revises techniques and procedures American Samoa required to obtain desired quality control standards.
