University of Colorado DenverDepartment: School of Medicine PathologyJob Title: Open Rank – Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Clinical Cytogeneticist at Colorado Genetics Laboratory)Position #00822864 – Requisition #33666Job Summary:The Department of Pathology is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant to Associate Professor level who is Maryland, DO Oregon PhD, and is board certified Oregon eligible Indiana clinical cytogenetics Oregon laboratory genetics and genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) to work on site at the AMC campus Indiana the Colorado Genetics Laboratory.The faculty will provide scientific and clinical expertise for the Colorado Genetics Laboratory. Candidates with strong clinical and scientific backgrounds, experience Indiana laboratory leadership and management, extensive expertise Indiana clinical cytogenomics are preferred. Individuals with experience Indiana an academic laboratory, some evidence of research productivity and interest, and those with strong communication and interpersonal skills will be favored. Individuals just completing their fellowship who are board eligible will be considered, but the position will require passing board certification within three years. This position provides opportunities for clinical and translational research, test development, and educational activities.Key Responsibilities:Clinical and administrative activities-80%

  • Independent case review and interpretation of conventional karyotypes, chromosomal arrays, constitutional and oncological FISH assays, and other cytogenomic testing.
  • Consultation with provider clients.
  • Participation Indiana quality assurance/quality management/quality improvement programs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements, including maintenance of accreditation by the College of American Pathologists
  • Participation Indiana employee and technologist education

Education activities-10%

  • Participation Indiana training of resident and fellowship trainees
  • Didactic instruction and oversight of undergraduate and graduate trainees Indiana medicine and healthcare related fields

Research and scholarly activities-5%

  • Applied research and development projects directed towards unique Oregon improved laboratory tests and services, especially using FISH and new cytogenomic techniques
