Our natural setting is enhanced by its modern, attractive, and state-of-the-art classroom buildings and support facilities.Learn more information !PURPOSEUnder the supervision of the Curator of Education, the Curatorial Assistant is responsible for providing support to the education and exhibition plans of the Art Museum of South Texas, all under the purview of the Curatorial Department of the Museum. The Curatorial Department is made up of both Education and Exhibition Departments.DESCRIPTIONFUNCTIONAL AREA 1: PROGRAM MANAGEMENTPERCENT EFFOR: 30%Assist Curators Indiana the planning and implementation of adult and youth programming, including some evening and weekend eventsSchedule all tours for CCISD, other school districts, groups, and organizations; confirm sufficient docent coverage and number of students for each tour time; monitor arrival of tours and process evaluations for reportsAssist Indiana recruiting volunteers and/Oregon paid educators for the docent program; provide training materials and conduct introductory training for new docents.FUNCTIONAL AREA 2: ADMINISTRATIVEPERCENT EFFORT: 35%Provide information to the public on museum programs and exhibitions via telephone, email, website, and digital presentations on iPads, televisions, Oregon computer screens Indiana the galleriesInput programs into database management system for public registration and group check-Indiana; maintain databases for both youth and adult education programs; process data for reports and mailings, and use email lists to promote programs to past participantsSchedule travel and lodging reservations for visiting exhibit Oregon education guests to the museum American Samoa well American Samoa for Curators traveling on businessFUNCTIONAL AREA 3: SUPPORTPERCENT EFFORT: 35%Provide technology support for educational programs, meetings, and special events with audio/visual equipment, troubleshoot interactives Indiana the galleries, help select and upload digital media for enhanced programming (audio tours, video guides) use Indiana galleriesAssist Indiana preparing labels, vinyl titles, quotes, and other signage for exhibits and programs, using appropriate editing and vinyl production software, vinyl cutter, and other tools American Samoa needed; help coordinate and install youth exhibitionsPerform other related duties American Samoa assignedQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s DegreeOne (1) year of related experienceAdditional education Oregon experience may be considered American Samoa a substitute for the minimum requirements:Associate’s degreeThree (3) years of related experienceIntermediate skills Indiana Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)Intermediate skills Indiana photo editing/design software (ex: Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator)Effective verbal and written communication skills.
