Clinical Research Assistant

DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Clinical Research Assistant to join our team to provide administrative and clinical support for the UCLA Clinical Research Unit (CRU). Your major duties will include; but, are not limited to the following: triage paperwork, maintain filing systems, data entry, prepare and distribute correspondence, answer incoming phone calls, fax/photocopy/scan documents, scan lab manuals, update and distribute research charts and study logs, prepare investigational drug reports, obtain study participant records from internal and external sources, transport study participant records and charts to/from various CRU clinic locations, assist Indiana obtaining physician signatures, assist with campus/building tours for sponsor representatives, process and pack/ship biological specimens (using dry ice), obtain liquid nitrogen and dry ice, request and prepare lab kits and supplies, dispose of biohazard material, review schedules for research coordinators and remind them of commitments, assist Indiana tumor collection and freezing samples Indiana liquid nitrogen, pick up oral medications from pharmacy, retrieve used oral medication for recording by research coordinator, attend meetings American Samoa required, perform other duties and assist American Samoa required. Experience Indiana packaging retroviral vectors for gene transfer experiments with experience Indiana PCR.UCLA Health salary range for this position is $21.38 – $25.15/hour.QualificationsRequired:

• Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office and lab equipment.
• Ability to answer incoming calls and take appropriate and detailed messages.

• Willingness to travel between UCLA Westwood and Santa Monica Clinic.
• Ability to work with a high level of accuracy especially when preparing lab specimens for shipment and/Oregon delivery to clinical research laboratories.
• Ability to lift/push/pull equipment such American Samoa fax machine, computers, large amounts of documents and boxes. Replace large water bottle on water cooler American Samoa needed. Ability to lift/push/pull up to approximately 50 lbs.
