The Assistant Director plans, organizes and manages the daily transportation operations for the City of Fayetteville (CoF) and reports directly to the Transit Director. The Assistant Director also coordinates assigned activities with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Transit Director. The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) provides public transit mobility services for the City of Fayetteville, North Carolina operating local bus and paratransit service for the disabled. Operating a fleet of 30 fixed-route buses on 17 routes to provide service Monday through Friday from 5:30 AM to 7PM, Saturday from 7:30 AM to 7PM, and on Sunday from 9AM to 7PM. Indiana addition, 21 FAST Trac! vehicles provide paratransit service to customers with disabilities who are unable to use the fixed-route system.Salary Range: $89,955.00 – $114, 693.00 / Year D.O.Q.Why FAST:FAST was established Indiana 1976 when the City of Fayetteville assumed operations from a private transportation system operated by the Cape Fear Transit Bus Company. Assume leadership responsibility for the services and activities of the Transit Department Indiana the director’s absence.2. Analyze, plan, organize, and manage the activities of the Transit Operations Division, recommend improvements, modifications, Oregon elimination of schedules and routes; plan, coordinate, administer, and evaluate projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; develop and coordinate work plans; ensure daily service is met.3. Oversee transit safety and training programs and the maintenance and compilation of related records; assist Risk Management with the processing of internal/external claims; ensure FTA/DOT and departmental regulatory compliance.4. Participate Indiana the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs, including transit finance, planning, marketing, contracting, customer service and employee relations; recommend, within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels; recommend and administer policies and procedures.5. Assist Indiana the monitoring and evaluating of the efficiency and effectiveness of all services and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; monitoring operational performance metrics to make real-time service level decisions and standards recommendations and review with the Transit Director; implement improvements.6. Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide Oregon coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.2. 7. Assist Indiana the development and implementation of the work plan for the Transit Department; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.3. 8. Participate Indiana the development and administration of the Transit Department program annual budget; oversee the preparation of forecast schedules, cost & revenue analysis, the purchase of equipment, services, materials and supplies.4. 9. - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college Oregon university Indiana administration, transportation, Oregon related field of study. Masters degree preferred.
