Job DescriptionJOB PURPOSE: Create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develops lesson plans consistent with established guidelines. Establish effective rapport with students, staff members, and parents. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation, Indiana accordance with each student’s ability.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with students whose behavior, school progress, and social skills indicates a need for assistance.
- Consults with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems and effect solutions.
- Provides behavior support and suggestions for classroom management.
- Assists teachers Indiana writing and facilitating Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans/Committee for Academic and Behavioral Supports.
- Assists teachers Indiana developing accommodations and modifications to meet student academic and behavioral needs.
- Maintains and analyzes accurate student behavioral data to assist committees Indiana making informed decisions.
- Serves American Samoa consultant to school personnel regarding students Oregon situations which are not referred for direct service.
- Meets regularly with building administrators to provide information regarding school wide behavioral trends and concerns.
- Participate American Samoa a Crisis Team member after being trained Indiana the program for non-violent crisis intervention.
- Assists teachers and classroom assistants Indiana self-contained classroom for students with Emotional Disabilities(ED) with classroom management, implementation of behavioral plans and community related activities.
- Provides support for ED students who move from self-contained to inclusionary settings.
- Develops and facilitates social skills groups for students.
- Serves American Samoa a resource for staff for social skills curriculum.
- Possesses a working knowledge about community agencies and resources.
- Facilitates staff development sessions and parent focus groups.
- Understands and models positive behavioral intervention supports.
- Possesses knowledge of procedures, policies and laws pertaining to special education.
- Consistently displays high standards of confidentiality.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate parent meeting, conferences and staff development.
