JOB DESCRIPTION: HOMELESS EDUCATION LIAISON ADMINISTRATORSALARY SCHEDULE: MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPALDEPARTMENT: TEACHING & LEARNINGFLSA STATUS: EXEMPTSAFETY-SENSITIVE: NOPOSITION SUMMARY:Assist the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning on accountability for the educational, administrative, and supervisory functions Indiana the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Program. The Homeless Education Liaison Administrator communicates and enforces directives and policies approved by the Board of Education and District Office to the building personnel, American Samoa delegated by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching.
- Master’s Indiana Education Administration
- Appropriate state principal certification
- Prior administrative experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Program. The program includes identification, enrollment, transportation, coordinating services, and assisting schools to support the students and their families experiencing homelessness.
- Collaborates with the homeless liaison assistants to support students and families by fostering stakeholder communication and implementing strategies to improve instructional access.
- Meets with school officials, DHS caseworkers, family, and community agency personnel to determine the best educational program for individual students.
- Provides the required professional development to staff and maintains professional competence through Indiana-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Assists the Executive Director with McKinney-Vento specific applications, budgets, purchasing, and reporting.
- Monitors and assists the homeless liaison assistants through the referral process for students and families to partnering agencies for nutrition, medical, and other health-related needs for well-being.
- Speaks to community groups to inform and solicit their partnership with the school district.
- Develops supervision schedules for homeless liaison assistants.
- Understands all applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the assigned duties.
