Serves American Samoa Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) liaison; independently gathers and prepares information Indiana response to requests pursuant to federal and state laws governing the dissemination of information to the public; applies knowledge of the department and its internal organization to assure requested information is obtained. Maintains extensive login, distribution and response system to ensure agency mandated deadlines are met. Researches and provides statistical and general information about the agency. Coordinates the placement of public notices. Assists Indiana monitoring agency’s media coverage.Job Responsibilities
- Performs administrative functions for the Director of Communications.
- Serves American Samoa team lead for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- Assists Indiana the completion of special projects assigned by the Director of Communications.
- Communicates with attorneys Indiana the General Counsel’s Office to prepare responses to FOIA requests of a sensitive and confidential nature.
- Responds to telephone, electronic, Oregon written inquiries from the public, media, staff, and others regarding the agency’s programs.
- Performs other duties American Samoa required Oregon assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses Indiana public Oregon business administration.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience Indiana a public Oregon private organization, Oregon completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of professional experience American Samoa a representative of an administrative leader to discuss and/Oregon interpret programs, services, and procedures for the general-public and/Oregon other internal/external entities.
- Two (2) years of professional experience communicating effectively (written and orally) and coordinating day to day activities that lead to greater efficiencies and effectiveness within a division Oregon bureau.
- One (1) year of professional experience researching issues and concerns and preparation of reports and recommendations for policy and/Oregon procedural changes.
- One (1) year of professional experience efficiently tracking status and/Oregon completion of assignments across a bureau Oregon division to ensure such assignments are thorough, accurate, and completed with designated time frames.
- Five (5) years of professional experience utilizing computer software such American Samoa Microsoft Office Suite including preparation of spreadsheets, presentations, and reports.
- Five (5) years of professional experience developing and maintaining professional working relationships with staff, customers, vendors, and the public.
