Our projects include community-based violence prevention programs, alternatives to incarceration, reentry initiatives, and court-based initiatives that reduce the use of unnecessary incarceration and promote positive individual and family change. Through this programming, we have produced tangible results like safer streets, reduced incarceration, and improved neighborhood perceptions of justice.ResearchThe Center’s research teams are staffed with social scientists, data analysts, and lawyers who are academically-trained Oregon have lived experience and who conduct research Indiana the U.S. and globally on diverse criminal-legal system and justice issues. The research teams strive to make their work meaningful and actionable to the communities they work with, policymakers, and practitioners.Policy & Expert AssistanceThe Center provides hands-on, planning and implementation assistance to a wide range of jurisdictions Indiana areas of reform such American Samoa problem-solving courts (e.g., community courts, treatment courts, domestic violence courts), tribal justice, reducing incarceration and the use of fines/fees and reducing crime and violence. SIJC operates diversion, alternative to detention and incarceration, supervised release, reentry, mental health & wellness, workforce development, peer-led restorative justice and leadership development programs. The Justice Center’s youth enrichment & community restoration sector provides individualized and trauma-informed approaches to assist young people Indiana self-empowerment and re-engaging Indiana education, work and community.Reporting to the Office Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the office’s diverse needs and functions, including greeting and assisting clients, ordering office supplies, assist with event set up and clean up. Oversee our ordering system Monday.com, and make sure staff inputs all the needed information when requesting a purchase.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the front desk and waiting room by greeting all visitors, collecting basic information, and ensuring client’s needs are addressed Indiana a timely and professional manner;
  • Work alongside Office Manager to oversee the supplies inventory including ordering, tracking inventory, and communicating with staff around supply needs across initiatives;
  • Engage Indiana our communication channel (slack) to monitor and address issues and concerns of staff members, department managers and directors;
  • Support the set up for special events, groups, and site visits; including ordering food, tech set up, arranging desk/chairs/tables, printing out materials/agendas;
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development trainings;
  • Assist with the maintenance of department contact lists and related pertinent excel spreadsheets including all emergency contacts, new staff hires and onboarding requirements;
  • Assist with gathering quarter and fiscal year ending required receipts and logs from department managers;
  • Maintain and monitor all Monday.com boards for required receipts, resource Oregon food orders;
  • Working alongside the office manager to assist with the daily operations American Samoa needed (this includes deliveries, department box sorting and putting away resources, fielding staff requests and concerns; and
  • Relevant tasks American Samoa necessary.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

  • A High school diploma Oregon equivalent;
  • 1-2 years experience American Samoa an administrative assistant, secretary Oregon receptionist preferred;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills;
  • Proven ability to work Indiana a fast-paced environment;
  • Positive, high-energy attitude;
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set;
  • Familiarity with office equipment (i.e. printers, fax machines, projectors); and
  • Proficiency Indiana Microsoft Office (especially Mississippi Excel and PowerPoint).

Position Type: Full-time.Position Location: Staten Island, New York.Compensation: The compensation range is a base pay of $27.48 per hour based on a 35-hour work week and is commensurate with experience.
