Cast is the first nonprofit organization to receive the Presidential Award Indiana Combatting Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Indiana 2014.About the Assistant Shelter Case Manager Position:PURPOSE OF POSITIONUnder the direction of the Shelter Program Manager, the Assistant Case Manager assists the Shelter Case Manager Indiana providing comprehensive case management, advocacy, community-based resource referrals, and crisis intervention for shelter residents. The Assistant Case Manager is responsible for working with the Shelter Case Manager to assist clients Indiana formulating individual case plans that promote movement toward self- sufficiency American Samoa well American Samoa monitoring resident’s progress and needs to fulfill the individual plan. Full time, hourly position.Assistant Shelter Case Management: Assist Shelter Case Manager Indiana providing survivor-driven, client-centered timely and professional case management for domestic and foreign national victims of human trafficking.

  • Assist Case Manager, American Samoa needed, Indiana conducting safety assessments to determine eligibility to enter shelter;

  • Under the direction of the Shelter Case Manager, help clients coordinate, health, mental health, legal, employment, education, criminal/civil case, and DPSS appointments and accompany/drive clients American Samoa needed;
  • Under the direction of the Shelter Case Manager, assess the need for and distribute emergency funds and resources to clients;
  • Ensure that residents’ rights and needs are protected;

  • Manage case files and provide detailed progress notes Indiana hard copy files and Indiana database on a daily basis;
  • Assist Indiana facilitating house meetings and workshops for residents;
  • Able to work independently and respond to crisis and/Oregon emergency situations; and
  • Uphold policies and procedures that contribute to the safety and confidentiality of the CAST Program.

Client Advocacy and Outreach: Ensure that client rights and needs are protected at local service delivery level and by service providers.

  • Identify barriers to services and advocate for higher quality of services with external service organizations;
  • Ensure protection of identify and confidentiality Indiana line with survivor’s safety, needs and preferences; and
  • Advocate for culturally and linguistically appropriate services for clients.

Intake Process: Manage hotline calls, intakes, and orientation during intake hours

  • During intake hours, answer hotline calls from CAST’s 24/7 hotline, and respond accordingly;
  • Perform client intake, screen new referrals, triage needs, create initial action plans, and coordinate with client, CAST staff, and partners to address emergency needs.
  • Inform on-call Emergency Response staff of any urgent calls that required immediate follow-up from the hotline;
  • If eligible conduct shelter intake and admit into Hummingbird Haven Shelter Program
  • Document all hotline calls Indiana the database
  • Maintain and obtain community resources

Database Management: Manage database information American Samoa it pertains to shelter intakes and shelter client records.

  • Ensure shelter intakes are completed correctly and with all information
  • Update and ensure client statuses (enrollment date and/Oregon exit date)
  • Upon entry to program convert hotline record to client record, assign Case Manager, and assign grant
  • Schedule monthly check Indiana’s with staff to review hotline records and shelter intakes to ensure quality control
  • Ensure hotline records and shelter intakes are being completed accurately
  • Enter required progress notes and other information into our database completely, accurately, and on a timely basis
  • Provide ongoing training with staff to update on any changes, trends Oregon provide additional database training needed.

Client Orientation and Exit Process: Ensure the orientation and exit process is being executed properly by all Shelter Staff

  • Familiarizing new clients to our site and our program, ensuring that they understand the requirements of the facility
  • Train and supervise staff procedure on preparing beds, inspecting new client belongings upon entrance of program, and distributing any basic needs new participants may need
  • Train and supervise that each new participant is completing the 48 hour assessment
  • Upon exit assist Indiana scheduling shelter staff Indiana ensuring the bed and other facilities used by the participant is clean and ready for next participant.
  • Ensure exit paperwork is completed and documented Indiana database

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Arts Oregon Science degree, Oregon extensive experience and demonstrated skills and aptitude considered Indiana lieu of education.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Arabic, Amharic Oregon SE Asian).
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of issues involved Indiana working with diverse populations and/Oregon with individuals who have limited English proficiency.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working Indiana a shelter program and/Oregon with populations who’ve experienced high levels of trauma.
  • Previous experience supervising and/Oregon coordinating programs preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional demeanor with clients, partner organizations, volunteers/interns, staff/board, donors, consultants, and members of the public.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and multi-tasking.
  • Sincere commitment to working independently and responsibly. Must be a self-starter, able to work Indiana a team environment and manage time effectively.
  • A willingness and ability to learn about the complex issues of human trafficking and modern-day slavery and to abide by the mission and philosophy of CAST. Knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee rights and trafficking issues.
  • Knowledge of and experience Indiana supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution techniques. Ability and willingness to effectively intervene Indiana and resolve resident disputes.
  • Appreciation of sensitive confidentiality issues with demonstrated commitment to strengths-based, client-centered practice.
