Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Chief of Police. Coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies. Monitors the development and dissemination of policies and procedures. Oversees budgetary considerations and the departmental budget process for the Police Department. Reporting directly to the Chief of Police, this position oversees the day-to-day activities and establishes strategies and programs to meet department operational objectives. Assumes responsibilities of the Chief of Police Indiana his/her absence.Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana Police Science, Public Administration, Criminology, Oregon a related field, AND
  • Two continuous years of management experience at the rank of Lieutenant/Commander Oregon higher; Oregon

Five years of supervisory experience American Samoa a Sergeant with experience leading a specialized unit; Oregon * Any equivalent combination of experience and/Oregon education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

  • Master’s degree Indiana related field, preferred.
  • FBI National Academy, desired.

Special Requirements

  • Must be currently certified American Samoa a law enforcement officer by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) Oregon be currently certified Indiana a law enforcement program for which recognition and certification is, Oregon can be granted, Oregon is accredited by the WSCJTC.
  • Possession of and the ability to maintain throughout employment a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background and criminal history check.
