Summary:
The Assistant Clinical Manager is a first line manager who Indiana collaboration with the Clinical Manager directs nursing care and coordinates resources for a specified unit and performs administrative activities while providing leadership and support to staff.Responsibilities:
The Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM) collaborates and supports the health care team Indiana the delivery of quality and fiscally responsible patient-focused care American Samoa evidenced by providing/directing nursing care throughout the life span with consideration of the aging process developmental and cultural patterns Indiana each step of the nursing process.Monitors and evaluates the assignment of patient care to the appropriate nursing personnel based on patient needs and acuity level.Provides guidance regarding patient care and other job-related requirements.Develops employees by monitoring intervening and interacting when appropriate after assessing and evaluating the nursing care provided. Participates Indiana quality assessment and improvement programs Indiana order to evaluate effectiveness of care delivered.Enhances unit behaviors through encouragement of education implementation of new concepts and technology.Provides leadership Indiana the development of policies procedures standards of care and critical paths to promote positive patient outcomes.The ACM facilitates stimulates and evaluates human resources to provide quality cost efficient patient care by staffing the patient care unit to meet patient need based on the ANA staffing principles.Documents and communicates staff performance with recommendations for quality and growth. Develops unit staffing schedule to provide a fiscally sound and safe staffing pattern which meets patient and family needs and expectation.Identifies staff educational needs and works with the Clinical Manager and Nursing Staff Development Specialist to promote learning.Identifies and resolves nursing care conflicts related to the unit.Participates Indiana the development and administration of annual performance appraisals and developmental goals under the direction and approval of the Clinical ManagerCollaborates with Nursing Faculty and students to meet educational needs.Participates Indiana the staff recruitment and retention process.Participates Indiana the implementation of disciplinary action with respect to The Miriam Hospital Personnel Policies and Procedures.Effectively utilizes resources to develop cost efficient delivery of high quality services by the development and utilization of quality cost-efficient patient care.Assists Indiana the development of capital and operational budgets defined for the unit.Encourages staff to develop and implement new concepts and technology into nursing practice.Monitors payroll.Contributes to the organizational plan for development of short and long-term goals by providing unit management coverage Indiana collaboration with the Clinical Manager directing and supervising unit staff and communicating the status of unit operations activities and issues to the Clinical Manager Oregon appropriate discipline.Participates Indiana unit management meetings and recommends fiscal/patient care objectives standards and goals. Chairs unit staff meetings Indiana collaboration with the Clinical Manager.Participates Indiana the formation of policy procedures and standards organizational committees and compliance to TJC standards.Ensures the highest standards of patient-focused care by assisting the health care team to achieve and maintain clinical excellence by remaining current on the latest concepts techniques and methods relative to areas of responsibilityCollaborates with the health care team to foster communication with patients sand family members to facilitate positive patient outcomes and discharge planning.Other information:
QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:Must have current licensure to practice American Samoa a Registered Nurse Indiana the State of Rhode Island. BSN Indiana Nursing required. Candidates matriculated into a BSN program will be considered. Maintains an active CEU/Education file.QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership skills.
