Job SummaryWorking independently, the Assistant Director of Facilities, Operations and Event Management is responsible for coordinating and managing activities, capital improvements, maintenance, and athletic events for all athletic facilities, including the Walter Pyramid and Blair Field.Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing all activities for general operations and event management on all athletic facilities. Administers game/event day operations for intercollegiate games, campus user events and rental events including, but not limited to, training and supervising part-time student and event staff; coordination of all student payroll for games and events; coordinating support services such American Samoa parking, public safety, concessions, event security, teams and game officials; supervising set up and strike for games and events; manages customer service for fans and general event management for all games and events.
  • Responsible for the coordination of facility capital projects which requires analysis and implementation of differed maintenance plans, warranty, and service agreements along with recommendations for long-term capital improvements.
  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of Blair Field.
  • Evaluate and research operational policy serving American Samoa program manager for event staff management and development.
  • Analyze and develop vendor relationships and provide fiscal review for all vendor proposals and selection through procurement process.

Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide work direction. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills and must be multi-task oriented.   • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree Indiana a related field and three years of related experience required.
  • Previous experience with events and/Oregon facility operations.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

Physical Summary

  • Heavy work – Job involves lifting more than 40 pounds. Approximately half of the incumbent’s time will be spent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, Oregon climbing.
