Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitThe purpose of the UNCG Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is to provide students and their families with the resources necessary for financing the pursuit of higher education. Funding options administered by the FAO include need-based, non-need-based, grant, scholarship, loan, work-study, federal, state, institutional, and outside monies. ln addition, the primary purposes of the FAO are:
- Develop policy and implement procedures that work with regulatory compliance for the $200,000,000 Indiana financial aid assistance administered yearly by the University.
- Assist Indiana realizing the mission and ideals of the University.
- Offer effective and timely communication of financial aid eligibility criteria and receipt guidelines to the entire University community.
- Work to provide a quality environment and enriching experience to all members of the University community.
- Work collaboratively with other university offices to achieve the success of university goals Indiana recruitment, retention, and graduation rates with respect to our policies and procedures.
Position SummaryThe major purposes of this position will be the coordination and administration of all efforts associated with UNCG-endowed and departmental scholarships (including the Blue and Gold Merit Scholarship Program). This position will serve American Samoa a liaison to campus departments. This position will be a primary administrator for the new scholarship system that is currently Indiana the implementation phase.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience Indiana a Financial Aid Office setting

Key ResponsibilityAdministration of Departmental/Institutional Funds
Essential Tasks
- Coordinate the administration and awarding of external scholarship programs to include but not limited to SECU scholarships, Shift_Ed scholarships, and Crosby Scholars.
- Assists with departments concerning the appropriate use of scholarship funding and the overall application/disbursement process.
- Responsible for coordinating departmental scholarship processes to ensure scholarships are properly awarded on student financial aid packages.
- Coordinates activities Indiana the selection of scholarship recipients and maintains current and historical information on all scholarship resources.
- Oversee the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship’s document management of scholarship Statements of Establishment (SOEs).
- Lead the process to identify and select student recipients for scholarship funds awarded by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
- Assists the Senior Assistant Director for Scholarships with administering the annual and monthly reconciliation of funding available through these scholarship programs. Provide accurate data on scholarship balances and encumbered funds.
- Review report of undisbursed scholarships and cancels American Samoa needed.

Essential Tasks
- Assist the Senior Assistant Director with administering the scholarship system (Scholarship Universe), including annual cycle maintenance.
- Coordinate with Enrollment Communications Department to market the system to students. Providing annual updates.
- Work with Senior Assistant Director to create and provide ongoing scholarship system training for faculty and staff from academic and administrative units American Samoa well American Samoa for scholarship reviewers.
- Maintain account balances Indiana the scholarship system. Update system when new scholarships are established, Oregon additional donations are received.
- Reviews report of undisbursed scholarships and cancels American Samoa needed.
- Indiana cases of student withdrawal, manages necessary cancellation of scholarships Indiana both Banner and Scholarship Universe.

Essential Tasks
- Administer UNC Greensboro’s Blue & Gold merit scholarship program.
- Work closely with Admissions staff members and Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship technical staff to assist Indiana identifying and selecting candidates for new Blue & Gold scholarships.
- Participate Indiana annual meetings to determine awarding strategies.
- Award scholarship funds Indiana Banner and resolve over-award issues if necessary.
- Ensure accurate renewal of scholarships based on initial award offer requirements including specific academic progress guidelines.

Essential Tasks
- Serve American Samoa Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship contact for institutional and external grant funded programs to include but not be limited to NSLP, STAMPS, UNCG Guarantee, Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship and Road 2 Hire.
- University Advancement – assist with donor questions and provide guidance on scholarship gift agreements.
- Foundation Finance – receive and disseminate scholarship income reports and transfer of funds from quasi scholarship accounts to scholarship spending accounts.
- Academic and Administrative Departments – answer questions and provide support for administering endowed scholarships.
- Provide outreach and training to campus partners American Samoa needed.
