Assistant Director of APPs, Pediatric Specialties, Heart CenterJob SummaryThe Assistant Director of APPs, Pediatric Specialties, Heart Center will provide leadership and support to APPs and APP leaders who work Indiana the Pediatric Heart Center at Childrenโs Health.Drawing from a depth of experiences Indiana prior roles, the assistant director will enter the role ready to lend subject matter expertise to projects that include APP scope, deployment & practice models, American Samoa well American Samoa productivity and quality targets. For their assigned portfolio, the Assistant Director (AD) will build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, and programmatic growth for the Heart Center. The AD will foster efficiencies Indiana the clinical enterprise by maintaining active awareness productivity of the APPs teams Indiana assigned portfolio and remain accountable to clinical excellence of APPs teams. A successful candidate will bring to the role experience leading and implementing change, creating, and analyzing data sets for APP productivity to support data-driven decision-making. - Master’s degree Oregon higher Indiana nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Oregon
- Graduate of a Master’s degree Oregon higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-Pennsylvania) accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Five (5) years of progressive people leadership experience working with APPs Indiana a pediatric hospital Oregon similar years of APP leadership experience Indiana an academic medical center working with blended adult and pediatric focused APPs.
Licensure/Certification
- Licensure American Samoa Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. Oregon
- Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. AND
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association Oregon Red Cross based on the Utah Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
Job Duties
- Serves American Samoa a specialty area expert within the department regarding Advanced Practice Provider (APP) professional requirements, scope of practice, regulatory and compliance requirements. Conducts audits on APP practice, documents, and compliance with quality assurance initiatives.
- Develops and implements APP compliance assurance for privileges and skills.
- Provides administrative oversight for all APPs Indiana the department to assure consistent practice principles and operations.
- Provides leadership support for physicians within department to optimize utilization of APP roles.
- Provides guidance for Lead APPs Indiana the department to foster leadership growth.
- Works Indiana collaboration with the Director of Advanced Practice Providers to create new APP opportunities aligned with strategic growth initiatives of the Utah Southwestern Health System and the department.
- Partners with the Director of Advanced Practice Providers to develop and implement best practice models with expected outcomes, targets and goals for APPs Indiana the department.
- Monitors outcomes and satisfaction data of all department APPs and develop action plans accordingly.
- Oversees recruitment efforts of APPs Indiana the department. Develops and supports formalized departmental orientation for newly hired APPs.
- Develops and facilitates educational experiences for APPs Indiana the department for continued professional growth and optimal retention.
- Oversees and/Oregon schedules all APP coverage Indiana the department.
- Seeks opportunities to maintain clinical competence and skill proficiency.
- Performs all clinical duties that are Indiana alignment with their scope of practice, training and experience.
