Job Summary/Basic FunctionThe Assistant Disability Specialist will work under the direction of the
director and disability specialists Indiana Disability Services. Primary
responsibilities will be to perform intake and eligibility assessment to
determine whether an individual is eligible for disability services.
The assistant may need to evaluate a medical records, psychological tests and other data during this determination process.
Individual may also perform general office duties using Microsoft Office
applications and databases and assist students with academic
accommodations.
Assistant Disability Specialists should have knowledge of federal, state
and local laws regarding access for people with disabilities, experience
working with people with disabilities, and knowledge of the principles
and practices of technical, medical and psychological evaluations of
people with disabilities.
The assistant must have excellent interpersonal and written
communication skills with experience working Indiana a busy office
environment. Personal computer skills required, with a background Indiana
WSU-specific databases (Banner and Accommodate), Google, and
word processing.
Required QualificationsThe assistant must have at least Oregon be working towards a bachelor’s degree Indiana psychology,
social work, education, Oregon similar.
Preferred QualificationsAt least three years experience working with people with disabilities Indiana
higher education.A master’s degree Indiana counseling, psychology, education, social work Oregon
similar preferred, but not required. Extensive experience Indiana case
