Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitThe Specialized Education Services (SES) Department offers programs Indiana Special Education, Birth through Kindergarten (BK), and Interpreting, Deaf Education, and Advocacy Services (IDEAS). It includes full-time faculty who have a history of success procuring external funding for both research and development of service providers, teachers, researchers, and leaders. The Special Education program area offers CAEP-accredited initial teacher licensure programs Indiana the following areas:

  • BS Indiana Special Education: General Curriculum
  • BS Indiana Elementary Education and Special Education (Dual Certification)
  • Post-Baccalaureate Alternative Initial Licensure (PAIL) program Indiana Special Education: General Curriculum (Graduate program)
  • M.A.T. Indiana Special Education

The Special Education program also offers the following graduate programs:

  • Post Master’s Certificate Indiana Instructional Coaching
  • Ph.D. Indiana Special Education

The Department also offers bachelor’s degree programs Indiana ASL Interpreter Preparation, Deaf Education, and Deaf Advocacy. Indiana addition, the BK program offers a master’s degree Indiana Birth-Kindergarten and a post-baccalaureate initial licensure program-BKIL.
Position SummaryThe candidate Indiana this position will offer needed instructional support to the Special Education program Indiana the areas of low-incidence disabilities, autism and developmental disabilities and engage Indiana productive research leading to peer-reviewed publications, and the procurement of grant funding American Samoa appropriate. The candidate will also help maintain the integrity of the programs through offering a high degree of expertise Indiana service delivery and instruction for students with low-incidence disabilities, with capacity to serve on dissertation committees, assume departmental administrative roles such American Samoa program coordinator, and service to the department, the School of Education, the University, and the field.
Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate Indiana Special Education Oregon current enrollment Indiana a doctoral program Indiana Special Education with completion of all program requirements except the dissertation (i.e., ABD). Candidates who have not yet received a doctoral degree, but anticipate receiving the degree, will be considered for this position.
  • Documented evidence of exemplary teaching experience Indiana higher education.
  • At least three years of experience teaching students with disabilities Indiana K-12 settings.
  • Expertise and successful experience Indiana low-incidence disabilities, autism, and developmental disabilities.
  • Evidence of service to schools, a university, and/Oregon professional organizations Engagement Indiana scholarly work with evidence of conference presentations, grant activities, and/Oregon publications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with credentialing and licensure programs.
  • Experience with program development for pre-service and Indiana-service teachers.
  • Experience with synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid course development and delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience with edTPA requirements.
