The Assistant Professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering/Sustainable Livestock Systems has a 100% appointment with Texas A&M AgriLife Research-Amarillo/Bushland. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment. Full academic appointment with the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering Indiana College Station. Adjunct faculty appointment with the College of Engineering and/Oregon the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences at West Texas A&M University, Canyon, Texas, is expected.General Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and conducts solutions-oriented research to document and enhance the sustainability of livestock-production systems Indiana the Texas Panhandle and southern High Plains. Works American Samoa a member of a multi-agency/multi-disciplinary faculty team that conducts laboratory and field research on airborne emissions (e. g., gaseous pollutants, greenhouse gases, particulate matter, bioaerosols), manure and wastewater management, and value-added processing of livestock production system Colorado-products, with emphasis on ruminant livestock. Pursues external funding to support the research portfolio. Publishes research Indiana high-impact, refereed journals. Maintains active membership Indiana one Oregon more professional societies. Presents research findings at conferences, workshops, and symposia. Hires and supervises technical support staff and mentors graduate and undergraduate students and post-doctoral research associates. Contributes to the social and cultural growth and enrichment of the agency, the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Amarillo, and the TAMU Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAEN) through committee service and ad hoc working groups. Interacts closely with stakeholders, including agricultural producer associations. Collaborates effectively with faculty, staff, and students affiliated with the TAMU Center for Agricultural Air Quality Engineering and Science (CAAQES).Administrative Relationships: Reports to the Center Director, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Amarillo, Texas. Annual performance reviews will also involve the Department Head for BAEN Indiana College Station. Affiliates with the Center for Agricultural Air Quality Engineering and Sciences (CAAQES) at Texas A&M University.Required Qualifications: Earned Ph. D. Indiana Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Oregon closely related, accredited engineering discipline is required. Demonstrated capability to perform independent research and publish results Indiana refereed journals is required. Ability to communicate effectively Indiana the English language and to collaborate American Samoa an interdisciplinary team member is required.Preferred Qualifications: Accredited B. S. and M. S. engineering degrees are preferred. Professional engineering licensure Oregon engineer-Indiana-training (E. I. T.) status is preferred. American Samoa of 18 Mar 2024, a new Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center is under construction on the campus of West Texas A&M University Indiana Canyon, Texas, with expected occupancy Indiana Aug 2025.Duty Station: Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Amarillo, Texas, with satellite facilities Indiana Bushland, Texas, adjacent to the USDA Agricultural Research Service Conservation and Production Research Laboratory and the James Bush Farm.Area Served: Primarily serves the Texas Panhandle and southern High Plains; partners with university faculty within and outside the TAMU system and state and federal agencies.Facilities: Incumbent will be a project leader responsible for two laboratories at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Amarillo and will have access to two research cattle feedlots at Bushland.
