JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, and assist Indiana fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, and assist Indiana fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission. The person Indiana this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including ICU/Critical Care, surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, care of hospitalized patients, and participating Indiana call coverage, including Indiana-house ICU coverage Indiana League City and Indiana-house trauma coverage Indiana Galveston. He/she participates Indiana all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds; house staff supervision Indiana the operating room, clinics, and Indiana-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, nursing, and allied health students. Indiana addition, the person Indiana this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating Indiana committee memberships at the Departmental and Health System level.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training program, be Board Certified Oregon Board Eligible (BC/BE) Indiana Trauma Surgery, and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.SALARY:
