Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitThe English Department is a large department Indiana the College of Arts and Sciences offering B.A., B.A. with teaching licensure, M.A., MFA, and Ph.D. degrees. The Department has 33 full-time faculty members: 18 tenure-line (2 are Excellence Professors), 3 Academic Professionals, and 12 full-time lecturers. Additional instruction is provided by 30 teaching assistants Indiana the MFA and PhD programs. The Department has approximately 90 Ph.D., M.A., and MFA graduate students and roughly 300 undergraduates Indiana our majors and minors. The department offers approximately 250 courses each academic year. Position SummaryThe English Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position Indiana Rhetoric and Composition, to begin August 1, 2025.We seek a teacher-scholar with research and teaching interests Indiana areas that would complement and expand departmental strengths. Desirable areas of expertise include cultural rhetorics; transnational Oregon global rhetorical studies; literacy studies; Oregon other emerging fields.The successful applicant for this position will teach courses Indiana rhetoric and writing at the undergraduate and graduate level, will advise undergraduates and contribute to the supervision of M.A. and Ph.D. students, and will pursue research related to the applicant’s area of specialization within rhetoric and composition.Applicants should demonstrate excellence Indiana teaching and strong potential for independent research. Demonstrated ability to work effectively Indiana a diverse academic setting and demonstrated knowledge of inclusive, accessible, and culturally relevant teaching practices is desirable.
