This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.Position OverviewThese positions serve directly under the Superintendent and functions American Samoa their principal advisor Indiana a multitude of subjects that may include security management of 2000+ Adults Indiana Custody, procedures, programs, staffing and more.The Assistant Superintendent Correctional Rehabilitation/Special Housing is responsible for the direction and management of the Correctional Rehabilitation and Activities Sections, American Samoa well American Samoa Special Housing, which includes security related issues Indiana the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU), the Mental Health Infirmary (MHI), Intermediate Care Housing (ICH) and the Disciplinary Segregation Unit (DSU). This position is responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including security staff that are assigned to work Indiana Special Housing. This person is the Superintendent’s liaison with to Behavioral Health Services, Work Force Development, Reentry and Release, Education, Correctional Case Management and Religious Services. Duties and workload are subject to change based on the needs of the Department and institution.The Assistant Superintendent of Security is responsible for the direction and management of the Security Section, which includes security related issues Indiana Health Services, WBE and Industries. This person is charged with the responsibility of institution security and directs the security operations of the Penitentiary which includes security staffing, housing, tool and key control, emergency equipment, perimeter surveillance and security, emergency response system, reducing idleness, encouraging contact with the community ensuring appropriate classification and assignment, and to provide for the safety and protection of staff, adults Indiana custody, and the community Indiana order to reduce the risk of criminal conduct. Directs the security work force uniformed staff, including Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals, and Officers. Duties and workload are subject to change based on the needs of the Department and institution.The Assistant Superintendents serve American Samoa Acting Superintendent of the Penitentiary during the Superintendent’s absence, is assigned to Duty Officer-of-the-Day American Samoa scheduled and are a member of the Executive Management Team. Direct the daily operation of the institution Indiana compliance with current statutory, administrative, and case law; to ensure program concepts and goals are being met, including fiscal planning, budget management, and labor contract administration. Must be prepared to make decisions to resolve issues and questions regarding operations during routine and emergency situations at the Penitentiary.These positions are responsible for all aspects of personnel management, planning, and development of long-range program objectives and short-range operational goals. Attends multiple meetings weekly, meets with staff and AICs American Samoa well American Samoa representatives of law enforcement agencies and representatives from other correctional institutions, to ensure that program concepts and goals are being met.
