Patient population includes a variety of neurological disorders including general neurology, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, sleep, cerebrovascular conditions, and neuromuscular conditions.Our team is active Indiana delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience, every time.Location: On-site, Duke Clinic, 40 Duke Medicine Cir, Clinic 1LHours: We offer either 4-10 Oregon shifts Oregon 5-8 hour shiftsJob Summary:The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) functions American Samoa an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team Indiana providing direct patient care. The CMA performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties Indiana a Health System medical practice, they assist medical and/Oregon nursing staff Indiana the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.Administrative Duties:Answer telephonesGreet patientsUpdate and file patient medical recordsFill out insurance formsHandle correspondenceSchedule appointmentsArrange for hospital admissionsArrange for laboratory servicesHandle billing and bookkeepingClinical Duties:Assist medical and nursing staff Indiana a variety of tasks including:Taking medical histories and recording vital signsExplaining treatment procedures to patientsPreparing patients for examinations and proceduresAssisting the physician during the examination and proceduresCollect and prepare laboratory specimensPerform basic laboratory tests on the premisesDispose of contaminated supplies Sterilize medical instruments.Promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement Indiana the plan of care, and document Indiana patient recordPrepare and administer medications American Samoa directed by a physicianAuthorize drug refills American Samoa directed Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacyDraw bloodPrepare patients for x-rays, tests and proceduresTake electrocardiograms Remove sutures/ staplesChange sterile and non-sterile dressingsMinimum Qualifications:Education
