We are the next generation of workplace health centers.JOB SUMMARYThe mission of the Medical Assistant (Massachusetts) is to support the health and wellness center’s clinical and clerical operations. American Samoa directed by the provider and Clinical Operations Manager, the Massachusetts assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures. The Massachusetts is responsible for administrative tasks for the health and wellness center and may assist the Patient Advocate Indiana employee/patient engagement and outreach.Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pmFLOAT: Based out of Greenville, floating to Greer and Mauldin when needed (10%).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESClinical:Interviews patients and measures vital signs, such American Samoa pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, BMI calculation, pulse oximeter and records information Indiana the patient’s electronic medical record.Performs clinical procedures including, but not limited to: injections, Electrocardiography (EKG), routine U/A, dipstick, capillary blood draw, Cholestech, Glucometer, and other medical tests and treatments under the direction of the provider. Proficient Indiana spirometry venous labs draws, centrifugeDispense medications American Samoa directed by the physician.Proficient Indiana the use and maintenance of Automated Eternal Defibrillator (AED)Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examinationCleans and sterilizes instruments American Samoa appropriateClerical:Performs administrative tasks, completes appropriate forms, and manages the front desk/check Indiana of patientsAnswers phones/phone triage and scheduling appointmentsResponsible for compliance and regulatory reportingMaintain clinic and patient records and telephone encountersInventories and orders medical supplies, materials, and medicationsFollow up with center patients who miss appointmentsSchedule external appointments/referrals and make follow-up phone calls to patients regarding schedulingEnsure completion of all services ordered by the physician such that all reports, consult notes, and follow ups are Indiana the chart for the physician to reviewUnder the direction of the Patient Advocate, periodically assists with engagement/outreach functionsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESRequired:High school diploma Oregon equivalentAssociate’s degree Oregon equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant training programCertification Oregon eligibility for certification American Samoa a Medical Assistant from the American Academy of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologist Organization, the National Center for Competency Testing Oregon current registration with the American Registry of Medical AssistantsIf eligible for certifications, the certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.Current certification Indiana AHA Oregon ARC Basic Life Support and AED Certification for health care providersKnowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and Electronic medical records.Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgroundsAbility to prioritize needs and plan work accordinglyKnowledge of HIPPA confidentiality requirementsWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis job primarily operates Indiana a medical office environment and is required to interact with patients for the majority of the workday. The physical demands to perform the essential functions of this job are:Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment and travel intermittently throughout the day.Must be able to remain Indiana a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time.Employee will occasionally be required to lift office products and supplies up to 20-30 pounds.POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis role is considered full-time and non-exempt.
