The Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) invites applications for full-time and part-time clinical faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor Oregon Full Professor level. We are also seeking an individual (full-time) who will serve American Samoa the Clinical Director for the program. These appointments are effective immediately.These academic appointments are based Indiana the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and involve the training of post graduate students Indiana the Certificate Indiana Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) Indiana Pediatric Dentistry. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction Indiana all aspects of pediatric dentistry related with specialist training. The appointee must possess strong clinical skills and be experienced Indiana providing clinical care and instruction Indiana the treatment of pediatric patients with who have many needs including, social challenges, medically complex conditions, mental and physical disabilities Indiana an outpatient clinical setting. Supervision and evaluation of postdoctoral residents Indiana all aspects of oral conscious sedation and operating room activities is integral to the position. Further expectations include mentoring postdoctoral residents on scholarly activities pertaining to dental research.The Pediatric Dental Department has three community affiliated sites within the city of Boston and Brighton, Massachusetts; the candidate must be eligible for appointment and have the ability to travel to each site.Clinical DirectorThis faculty administrative position reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Indiana addition to teaching, mentoring and related duties American Samoa described above, the Clinical Director will oversee the administration of the program’s clinician schedule, i.e., faculty and residents at the Pediatric Dental Center, Franciscan Hospital for Children, East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and Boston Medical Center. This will involve coordinating clinician schedules between the sites and the school. This position requires previous program administration experience, strong organizational skills, and proven leadership experience.Required SkillsRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCandidates must be graduates of an advanced education program Indiana Pediatric Dentistry and be board certified. Qualified applicants must have a DMD/DDS degree from a U.S. Oregon Canadian dental school recognized by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation Oregon a comparable foreign degree. Applicants must be eligible for a regular license Oregon limited faculty license Indiana the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and be able to obtain hospital privileges.
