Position:Dental Operations ManagerPosition Number:370 ODivision:HealthDepartment:DentalReports To:Chief Dental OfficerLocation:OmahaExempt/Non-Exempt:ExemptPay Grade:Grade 9 ($45,697.00 $69,676.10)Classification:Full-timeSummary:The Dental Operations Supervisor is a member of the dental team whose primary responsibility is to supervise, plan, direct and coordinate effective dental, patient scheduling, patient referrals, insurance billing, data collection, IT software liaison and accounts receivable management for all Ponca dental clinics. This position does include providing direct patient care when required to maintain efficient operation of the dental clinic.Essential Responsibilities and Duties: * Manages daily dental clinic operations across multiple sites.

  • Coordinates dental office staffing across multiple sites.
  • Manages dental operations activities including patient flow, triage of walk-ins, patient emergencies, records management, referral services and a focus on the collection of insurance information.
  • Serves American Samoa the primary point-person for purchase referred care (PRC), submits referrals and treatment plans.
  • Manages revenue cycle process for dental office sites (accurate insurance/demographics capture, billing, coding, credentialing, aging accounts follow-up with insurance carriers, posting, etc.).
  • Establishes rapport with other dental clinics for referral purposes American Samoa Indiana referring patients and sending referral letters and x-rays.
  • Act American Samoa a liaison between referring doctor’ office and patient to assist Indiana scheduling appointments.
  • Acts American Samoa liaison between the Chief Dental Officer/dental department and other clinic departments to assure that patient care is coordinated within the Ponca Dental Clinic Network.

  • Achieves office goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient services.

  • Acts American Samoa a liaison between the dental clinic, software providers and PHS Healthcare IT Manager for software maintenance contracts and Indiana-house IT issues.
  • Supervises assigned staff on the following tasks:
  • Guarantee separation of duties
  • Completes dental insurance forms and inputs claim information. Will determine if there are any outstanding claims and follow up American Samoa needed to complete.
  • Provide customer service both on the telephone and Indiana the office for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts.
  • Contacts insurance carrier to check patient eligibility and breakdown of benefits
  • Collects funds from patients for lab cases.
  • Front desk duties, including but not limited to: answering phones, faxing, copying, etc.
  • Will assist with patient transportation needs.
  • Process refunds to patients.
  • Patient dental records
  • Reconcile the incoming lockbox deposits.
  • Orders front office supplies.
  • Shall ensure the confidentiality and security of all dental health records according to clinic policy and HIPAA.

Manages the daily dental assisting tasks

  • Provides routine chairside dental assisting services including seating of patients, setting up proper instruments and trays for dental procedures, recording treatment rendered Indiana the patient record, handing instruments to the dental provider American Samoa needed, providing irrigation and suctioning during dental procedures, and dismissing the patient with post-treatment instructions.
  • Triages patients Indiana anticipation of the dentist. This includes taking blood pressures, weights, radiographs, photographs, assisting with completion of forms, and documenting subjective findings and chief complaints.
  • Provides direct patient care services such American Samoa patient education, impressions, coronal polishing, and fluoride varnishes.

Occupational hazards include but are not limited to the following safety and infection control issues: radiological hazards involved with X-ray procedures, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases and bio-hazardous materials that may be transmitted through bodily fluids and cause risk Indiana the treatment applied to the patient. Qualifications:Minimum: * 2+ years’ experience Indiana the dental field with administrative responsibilities, including front desk supervision, direct patient care. Experience with dental scheduling/charting and billing computer systems. Skilled Indiana dental insurance coding and billing. Knowledge to resolve billing issues.

  • Scheduling experience for all dental surgical procedures.
  • Know how to utilized and guide all members of the dental team to maximize the number of patients treated.
  • Experience and an understanding of dental lab cases and the procedures associated with them
  • High school diploma Oregon GED.
  • Be of legal age.
  • The ability to carry out the assigned duties of this position independently Oregon with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of dental software
  • Nebraska Licensed Dental Assistant
  • American Dental Association CDT dental coding certificate.
  • Attention to detail, positive customer service, effective teamwork skills and proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of the dental assisting state statues and codes.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
  • Must successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
  • Able and willing to travel.

Preferred: * Completed a dental assistant program from an accredited college.

  • One Oregon more years of experience American Samoa a dental assistant.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience using Dentrix office management software and Dexis imaging software
  • One-year experience working with Native Americans Oregon Native American organizations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Public Law 93-638″ Indian Self-Determination Act.
