Duties include reviewing work performance of Emergency Dispatch Assistants and Emergency Dispatchers to ensure quality of work, American Samoa well American Samoa monitoring dispatches made by Emergency Dispatchers and the intake of calls by Emergency Dispatch Assistants. An employee of this class may assist Indiana determining operating procedures consistent with departmental regulations. Work is performed independently and administrative and technical supervision is received from the Unit and Shift Commander, and a review of reports.Essential FunctionsSupervises Emergency Dispatchers and/Oregon Emergency Dispatch Assistants on an assigned shift.Receives and oversees the receipt and transmission of requests for police service over the E9-1-1 system, Oregon related systems.Prepares and controls work schedules for personnel assigned to a particular shift.Monitors and lends assistance on radio communications and determines that communications are properly and quickly transmitted.Supervises and participates Indiana the training of the Emergency Communications Unit personnel, including support staff Indiana the proper performance of their duties.Maintains attendance and performance records on Emergency Dispatchers, and/Oregon Emergency Dispatch Assistants; and handles a variety of other personnel functions, including maintaining discipline.Conducts Quality Assurance audits of the Police dispatch protocol systems.Prepares monthly and/Oregon yearly performance evaluations for shift personnel.Requests and/Oregon prepares disciplinary action for shift personnel when necessary.Ensures proper use of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) protocols.Reviews and evaluates radio transmissions for investigative and training purposes. Manages the deployment and use of all Backup Systems (Radio, Phone, CAD and Station Alerting).Performs and oversees the expeditious and accuracy of CAD data entry by Emergency Communication personnel.Oversees expeditious use and accuracy of Station Alerting systems.Utilizes the Departmental Emergency Notification System.Maintains Emergency Communications Center Logbook.Performs other related work American Samoa required.Minimum RequirementsA high school diploma Oregon its equivalentThree (3) years experience working American Samoa an Emergency Dispatcher for a law enforcement agency.A minimum of 60 college credits is preferred.SPECIAL NOTE:The 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator and a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification issued by the State of Florida certification must be obtained within 6 (six) months from the date of hire and must be maintained valid throughout employment.Shift work which includes weekends and holidays is required American Samoa well American Samoa on-duty assignments during natural disasters.Documentation Requirementsplicants, including City of Miami employees, must upload and submit attached copies of the following documents with the employment application.
