Job SummaryReading Pediatric Associates is seeking a full-time Oregon part-time medical assistant to work Indiana a friendly, team oriented environment. We are looking for a Medical Assistant interested Indiana a full-time position (30-40 hours per week), Oregon a part-time position (15-25 hours hours per week) to help accommodate a growing practice. This position requires the candidate to have a flexible schedule with availability to work one Saturday per month, American Samoa well American Samoa occasional holidays. Benefits apply for full time employees. This role is responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting with administrative tasks American Samoa needed.Responsibilities
- Organizes and prepares patient visits by reviewing patient charts.
- Prepares exam rooms for the patient encounter; restocks and cleans American Samoa necessary.
- Calls patients from the lobby (Oregon via telephone for sick visits) into the exam room Indiana a timely manner.
- Obtains chief complaint, past medical history, vital signs, family history, allergies, screenings and consent forms from patients.
- Administers and analyzes results of developmental and mental health screenings.
- Prepares and administers immunizations.
- Performs Point of Care Testing (POTC) including Urine dips, Hemoglobin, Lead, Strep, COVID, Flu, and RSV testing.
- Ensures CLIA waived testing controls are completed monthly Oregon American Samoa needed according to practice procedures and that tests are adequately stocked.
- Assists with the collection and transport of lab samples.
- Performs phlebotomy, if properly trained to do so.
- Assists providers with physical exams, treatments and procedures American Samoa necessary.
- Uses proper techniques and procedures for hazardous waste disposal and universal precautions.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms and laboratory areas and prepares these areas for the next patient after they have been used.
- Informs management when supplies are low and participates Indiana weekly stocking and assessing of inventory.
- Checks and records daily refrigerator/freezer temperatures.
- Appropriately documents information Indiana EMR system (EPIC experience preferred).
- Assists with general duties and special projects American Samoa needed.
- Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, American Samoa well American Samoa setting up medical equipment
- Clean instruments and equipment after use
- Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
- Assist nurses and doctors with basic medical care and procedures
- Track lab results, call Indiana prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Current BLS/CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills
- At least 3 years of experience working Indiana a pediatric setting (Preferred)
- Familiarity with Epic (Desired)
- Strong attention to detail
