Work is performed under the supervision of the Greens Superintendent. Supervision is exercised over other employees.Essential Functions

  • Assists Indiana managing and maintaining properties which may include: golf course and practice areas, maintenance equipment, clubhouse grounds and landscaping, restrooms and potable water on course, open spaces, wooded areas, unused acreage and areas outside the perimeter fence, sod farm and nursery, and other properties American Samoa specified by the Superintendent of Public Parks.
  • Oversees the spraying of tees, greens, and fairways.
  • Supervises irrigation repairs and maintenance to various equipment.
  • Assists Indiana the planning of some maintenance and project work.
  • Oversees greens crew and relevant training.
  • Assists Indiana acquiring equipment and purchasing necessary supplies to maintain club properties. Oversees inventory control and the equipment maintenance programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires general knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practice.
  • Requires knowledge on irrigation systems and golf course equipment.
  • Requires a high degree of administrative and executive ability, especially Indiana terms of problem solving and decision making.
  • Requires current state certification Oregon licensing American Samoa a pesticide applicator.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years experience working with golf courses, turf management and related equipment.
