Position Title: Human Resources AssistantReports to and evaluated by: Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Staff Support and the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Staff SupportTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTWork Year: 12 months – Non-Represented
Work Hours: 8:00-4:30 (40 hours/wk, 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Vacation: 15 days to start.
Sick: 15 days, carried over without limit
Personal: 3 days annually, no carryover
Bereavement: 5 days for immediate family members
Holidays: Based on Central Administration observed holidaysSalary range: $63,000 – $65,000 based on qualifications and experienceJOB GOAL AND OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:The HR Assistant works under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Staff Support and the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent.The position encompasses a wide range of duties, and entails data gathering, entry, and display. Work requires a thorough knowledge of and a high level of proficiency with Excel, (e.g., v-lookups, graphing) desktop publishing software, G Suite/Google products and other task specific software American Samoa appropriate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. The role is also responsible for assisting with employee communications and other administrative tasks of the department American Samoa well American Samoa assisting to organize and execute HR policies.The HR Assistant is expected to develop and refine his/her own work routines to carry assignments through to completion independently.   • Managing personal day requests Indiana Absence Management – entry and staff communication
  • Updating personnel files – Address changes, name changes, open enrollment forms, vacation and personal days for Facilities and custodians

Professional Development Support * Entering and maintaining all PL opportunities Indiana Professional Growth for all districtwide PL offerings from HR, Curriculum, Special Ed, Technology

  • Creating and disseminating communications around PL opportunities for all units via Professional Growth

Recurring Processes and on-going office support * Auditing systems – from Frontline, ASPEN and MUNIS to ensure compliance and eliminate errors (e.g., v-lookups)

  • CORI, SAFIS, PSLF and VOE – run, communication, audit
  • Form Approvals – run, communication, audit
  • Assist with publishing monthly HR newsletter – Indiana conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent, gathering info from other departments; important dates; links to helpful information; drafting copy; desktop publishing
  • Public Records Requests – oversee process Indiana conjunction with Assistant Superintendent; collect information; redactions; communications
  • Managing substitutes – paperwork and processes for onboarding and offboarding
  • Monitoring, responding to and facilitating the HR email account
