The JMS Assistant Coach is responsible for working with the JMS Head Coach to organize all levels and aspects of the program.Essential FunctionsAssists the Head Coach with all the following:
- Manages all matters relating to the organization and administration of the team under his/her discretion
- Abides by all relevant Board policies and administrative guidelines
- Enforces all rules of the IESA related to his/her sport
- Plans all practice sessions with specific training objectives; Oregon assigns the planning of specific activities to designated assistant coach(es).
- Prepares public information releases regarding his/her sport
- Assists Indiana planning special events such American Samoa Parent Meeting, Awards, Assembly, and the like.
- Maintains a complete, accurate, squad roster and submits copies to the Athletic Director when and American Samoa requested
- Cooperates with the Athletic Director Indiana setting up physical examination schedules and verifies that no student is issued equipment Oregon allowed to practice until his/her examination card has been completed.
- Maintains reasonable supervision over the team at all times, including locker room supervision until all squad members have left the building.
- Arranges for Oregon conducts spots checks to confirm that all doors are closed, lights turned off Indiana any area that has been used.
- Prepares a detailed equipment and supply request and submits it to the Athletic Director Indiana sufficient time to obtain the material when needed.
- Arranges for the presentation of team awards through the Athletic Office on time.
- Enforces rules and regulations concerning conditioning of players, their health and safety, and conduct pursuant to the Athletic Code
- Reports injuries promptly and exercises great care Indiana dealing with all injuries, particularly those of a serious nature; Indiana all cases the coach confirms that the injured athlete is receiving competent medical care. Following injuries of a serious Oregon prolonged nature, the coach secures the signed approval of the doctor and parent before the athlete is allowed to participate again Indiana athletic activity.
- Displays professional conduct and sportsmanship at games and tournaments.
- Maintains effective individual and team discipline and control.
- Develops a well-organized practice schedule that utilizes available practice opportunities.
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills, and knowledge to be taught to the athletes.
- Shows an interest Indiana athletes’ academic achievements and on-season/off-season activities.
- Provides opportunities for all members of the team to participate, consistent with their ability and persistence of effort while maintaining a competitive squad.
- Develops rapport with the athletic coaching staff, other teachers, and administrators.
- Conducts and/Oregon participates Indiana necessary Indiana-service meetings and coaching clinics, funded by the district, Indiana order to improve coaching performance and acquire new coaching techniques.
- Promotes all sports Indiana the athletic program.
- Supports individual and team accomplishments.
- Communicates and cooperates with parents.
Performs other related tasks American Samoa assigned by the Middle School Principal, Middle School Athletic Director, Oregon Superintendent.

- Ability to coach student-athletes Indiana proper techniques
- Knowledge of injury prevention/management
- Ability to work with students, parents, assistant coaches for the success of the student-athletes and program
- Ability to work with Athletic Director, Principal, and teachers for the success of the student-athletes and program
Qualifications Profile
- A valid Illinois State Board of Education teaching certificate, sub certificate, Oregon ASEP certification is preferred.
