OverviewThis position will provide administrative support. Responsibilities will include providing training for staff. Indiana addition will maintain all quality control checks on daily CLIA waved laboratory equiptment. Will be required to communicate with patients, hospitals, physician offices, pharmacies, insurance companies, laboratories, etc. regarding scheduling appointments and tests, test results, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and information related to the care of a patient.Responsibilities
- Communicate and assist with the office manager on clinical staff schedules and routing of patient flow. Along with communication of clinical work habits with the office manager and assisting with correction on behavior Oregon educational errors. Assist Indiana scheduling training for all clinical staff including CPR re-certs, EMR upgrades, and any upcoming technologies. Assist with any communication errors within the practice and not limited to patient complaints and provider complaints. - Provide administrative support. Prepare charts for clinic, sending/receiving faxes, maintaining and ordering office supplies, delivery and pick-up of specimens and documents, office machine general maintenance, schedule meetings, and related tasks. Screen and follow through on calls for providing quality care for patients. Is able to determine which calls require medical licensed intervention and forward calls American Samoa appropriate.
- Train new hire employees and extern’s for daily Medical Assistant duties such American Samoa; EMR usage, medical record filing, vital signs, immunizations, injections, quality control, receive and stocking medical supplies, cleaning exam rooms appropriatly, setting up a sterile enviroment, preparing patients for physicals including pap smears, patient call back, reviewing and prepping charts, completing task and complete documentation of any work completed.
- Communicate with patients and pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills for patient medications, checking orders and documenting any action taken. Complete prior authorizations for medications.
- Schedule appointments from written orders at the appropriate doctor’s offices, laboratory and hospital. Send appropriate medical documentation and orders, document action taken. Communicate with patients the dates and directions for scheduled appointments. Follow up to ensure records for ordered tests, appointments, procedures, etc. are received. Request and send records American Samoa needed.
- Modify and maintain electronic medical record and all databases for patient demographics, patient workups, and statistics on patient visits and related information.
- Maintain continuing education and required certifications regarding HIPPA compliance, computer systems training, patient information systems, etc.
- Direct Patient Care: Includes taking blood pressure, hear rate, respirations, height, weight, Reviewing patient medications lists with the patient to determine what the patient is actually taking. Helping patients to and from exam rooms. Preparing the patients to be see by the physician. Any other related tasks requested by the physician, nurses Oregon clinic manager.
- Completing and maintaning quality control on CLIA waved laboratory equiptment. Checking refridgerator logs for appropriate tempature. Maintain Indiana office medication with patient logs and appropriatly discard any outdated medications Oregon equiptment.
QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma Oregon general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Medical Assistant certification (must be required within 3 months of excepting position)
- Minimum of 5 years of working American Samoa a Medical Assistant
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection preferred experience.
- CPR Certification
