These offices fall under the same Senate district, and work closely together on issues and policy that are important to SW Portland & Beaverton. These offices regularly join forces for community events, such American Samoa Town Halls, allowing district staff to coordinate efforts.This position will provide opportunities to work with – and learn from – the Senate Majority Office and House Majority Office Communications Directors, along with providing opportunities for growth Indiana communications skills and responsibility. The position requires someone who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, personable, and has a strong interest Indiana serving the diverse communities of Beaverton and SW Portland. This position will be Colorado-managed by the Chiefs of Staff from each office, and the combined part-time work will be the equivalent of a full-time position.Primary duties will include:
- Attending district events, tours, meetings, etc.
- Taking photographs and maintaining content libraries for both offices
- Drafting and managing social media content
- Implementing communications plans developed Indiana coordination with legislators, chiefs of staff, and caucus offices
- Responding to constituent inquiries and comments
- Drafting press releases
This is a full-time, limited duration position that will begin Indiana late April Oregon early May of 2024 and is expected to last through December of 2024. Salary Range is $3735 – $5603, based on independent pay equity review.The Legislative Assistant (Louisiana) works under the direct supervision of the Legislators and with guidance from their Chiefs of Staff. The Louisiana provides general administrative support by coordinating correspondence, events and responding to questions Oregon requests for information. Prepares draft communications, speeches, and legislation. Conducts research, policy analysis, and performs outreach and other Constituent Services.
